Definitely enjoyed it, and am excited that my vac will be on its way to me soon, but 2 tips: 1) Always have your mic game on point. First rule of documentary is that people will forgive bad video if they get the gist of what's going on, but it's extremely frustrating when we can't hear the expert well that you're there to interview. 2) Let your expert talk! This man is a legend... questions and comments that lead HIM to tell us what us Followers can learn from him is the point. Thanks for interviewing him and yes, more please, Jay!

This is awesome! I have great respect for Kevin, I have owned the same VAC amp and pre amp for nearly 20 years and my intention is to have them take them in for their Mk III upgrades in the next few months. Great idea for a vid segment.

As a biologist, I must say that no one takes into account what biometerological conditions prevail. What pressure drops or increases are there. This affects the perception of sound. One day it plays great, another day it is just so

Kudos for the excellent information shared by the manufacturer and good questions and insightful comments from you Jay. However, if we must be picky, there was no "factory tour" as billed in the headline as you did not walk the whole facility - or if you did walk it - for some reason you did not show it in this video. Is there a part 2 coming perhaps? And I get VAC has just moved there and/or perhaps he may have not wanted to show you every inch of the new facility. Still, it would have been so cool to see the factory's front door & entrance, the front office or lobby, the receiving area, manufacturing equipment, storage area, and finally, the reference listening room where Kevin does final audition and gives his final stamp of approval before a piece of equipment gets boxed and ready for shipping. Did you see his listening room Jay? If so, can you describe it? What speakers, power conditioning, and cabling is he using, for example? I am curious what loudspeakers he has at his disposal to gauge his electronics. This is very important of course because this has to do with how he is "tuning" his electronics as heard through he prism of whatever speakers he has at his disposal. But it's not all bad news. You still get credit having interviewed the designer inside his premises but I (we) do look forward to a more proper, more in-depth walking factory "tour" at a later date. Cheers and thanks for putting in the long hours! It is GREATLY appreciated.

An interesting discussion. So do you think used gear trading that is pre-corona now goes for a premium? I am seeing this with vehicles also. My custom built Mercedes suv from 2018 the dealership constantly wants to buy it back and pay me a premium for it. I say no because I love the vehicle and it's big and roomy. New vehicles they crammed in the roof line and brought it down closer to your head to save on money and then price is way higher from before. I have heard from others also they are not buying new stuff with inflated corona prices and waiting for product to normalize some. It won't be as cheap as pre-corona but should ramp back down some once things normalize. So it seems to make sense to maybe wait on newer gear for purchase or purchase some gear not that old but pre-corona.

Jay, Did Kevin discuss any possible shortage of the Russian-made KT-88 tubes? They use these extensively and I understand they are no longer being imported due to the war in Ukraine sanctions. Have they stockpiled thousands of the KT-88's?

Jay, I love the gear that you present. But your constant paraphrasing, interrupting and monopolising of the conversation with your interviewees is annoying. I mean it was hard for Kevin to get a word in edgeways, and you could be forgiven for thinking this was Kevin interviewing Jay.

I always love to see manufacturers in their „realm“. More of this content please. That being said, this was disappointing when compared to factory tours by AV Showrooms, Audiofederation, or M. Fremer or others. I would love to get some real insights. For example: does he manufacture any of the key components (e.g. transformers), or is it all outsourced. If the former, are the majority of his suppliers U.S. suppliers? He missed the opportunity to show us much of anything (IMHO).

I enjoyed seeing the VAC factory. FWIW constructive feedback - let the host speak. Your questions should prompt them to touch on a subject that might be missed. I think you are trying hard to get your brand out there and promote your consulting service. That's all good. But on a factory tour, let the vendor give their tour. We'll hear your take on it after they say their piece. Keep up the good work.
