U can get community ban by report botting someones profile, ive tried it on a certain website which provided such a thing and got a person banned. I ve heard that after reaching certain amount of reports steam will ban automatically give you com ban and to get rid of it u have to provide a information towards your account such as game license keys etc. Also thid ban depends on steam profiles, some of profiles are easy to be banned and some not. Not really sure how does it work. I got this info from cheat community.

Doesn't work that way. This is a common misconception. We check each and individual valid reports. Also, we've already flagged those accounts used for report bot. Meaning, each report they sent would automatically be ignored by the system. Only valid reports, with valid comments, from valid accounts, are being investigated.

Community bans can also be a result of accounts being stolen, there are bots which can force these. Only way getting the accounts back is having every original info

I copied some of the fake scammer comments that get left on your profile on a few of my friends profiles and my account got temporarily banned and locked because they thought the account was stolen. I just had to change my password and everything was back to normal except every comment I've left on a profile over the last 10 years was deleted. Funny how that happened to me after leaving like 5 comments but there are still pages of spam comments still on my profile to this day

in roblox there is a thing, when a rich scammer or person get banned... lets say with a 3M Blue Fedora right.... whenever another user gets scammed out of their 3M Blue fedora, they can email roblox support with proof that they got scammed, and they would get a rollback, and roblox would pull another serial of the same fedora from a banned account, so it would be cool if valve did that, people get scammed, they email valve with proof, they rollback them... although roblox only allows one time rollbacks, so if you get scammed the 2nd time you can just chew dirt.

it might not be anything permanent as there was a guy i was watching and he got a community ban with 3 low float silk tigers but with name as numbers and no profile pic but the no text saying profile was private, but apparently he got his account hacked and has now got it back and thats what valve did to lock it from what it looks like, it might be something that has changed in valve ban procedures temp and permanent cos it would normally say trade banned not community banned.

I got a community ban on my acc, as they said for braking the community laws, after like half a year I got it removed. I was mailing steam support, and would always get same response (you got it, we can’t remove it) until once they responded that they overlooked my case, and that the reports I got were false, so they unbanned my account.

Community bans also happen when an account is bought, example someone buys a 13 year old steam account if people report your bought account as compromised it gets hit with a community ban.

My close friend recently got banned. No replies from steam, every time he contacted them about it his ban got worse. Was just a cooldown to start, then game ban, then VAC. His account is over 10yo with hundreds of games and thousands of hours... he'd played the odd hour of CS deathmatch for years and recently played comp with me to rank. First rank GN1 then the next day the cooldown. He had a lucky round with PP B but watching it back I can't see how overwatcher would say there's any sufficient evidence for any of the 4 options. The rest of us all got de-ranked after prompts about his ban came up in game. I recently invested in some skins for playing with, knives, gloves... I'm so scared for loosing them it's ruined the game for me, so close to just selling off due for fear of loosing them.

Ok I once got slapped with a community ban. I was getting hacked at that point. I think the hacker did some really wrong stuff to get me community banned in 2 mins. It got lifted by steam support and I got my account back in a week.

You can get a temporary community ban for posting weird stuff like that in the steam discussions and such, but community bans also get applied by valve themselves if they deem a profile untrustworthy, have some proof of them breaking Steam ToS and such. For example, I used to sell Steam groups and ids for real money, which is against the ToS, someone or Valve themselves compiled a list of me admitting to selling stuff on a popular forum which has a Steam section, and my account got community banned until 2048 (The maximum they give out), for basically "Stealing steam accounts and Harassment of Steam users." which was kinda harsh because I actually got all of them from the owners but I understand it since it was against the Steam ToS to sell that kind of stuff.

My speculation is that his account has been shared along with an email & ip change resulting in his community ban, this a common occurance in the cheating scene with cracked accounts and im pretty sure this is what happened as this guy has a history of sharing accounts

There's an easy way to test this. Make a smurf account and have your viewers report it. I have a feeling it might be a targeted ban from other traders wanting their prices to go up so they just flooded the reports.
