Saying it's a side project is a pretty generous term. It implies that there's actually some interest and/or effort being put into it, and we all know that's not the case. Well, outside of making money off the additional transactions in the game based off creations from the community.

This #FixTF2 event can't be the self-congratulatory circle jerk that was #SaveTF2 there needs to be collective effort from the community to address the problem face on that is the bot crisis. In the words of Zesty Jesus: "#SaveTF2 was like trying to tell the fire department that your house is burning down by screaming how much you love your house. Instead of telling them hey my house is burning down."

Remember people, we CAN fix and save tf2, we just need to do it the right way and we need to have as many people as we can, tell all your friends, even people that dont play tf2 what we're doing, spread awareness regarding the movement, and DONT GIVE UP UNTIL WE GET WHAT WE WANT, DONT STOP WHEN VALVE WILL GIVE US YET ANOTHER "oh tf2 community we love tf2 and we surely 100% work on it" Do not give up until the bots are gone for good.

they CANNOT fix the bot crisis. it is completely impossible to remove bots without rewriting the entire game. even then, any fixes will soon be bypassed. Valve has done all they can to at least keep the game playable: -make bots easier to kick -make bots harder to host -make the game more enjoyable as that is the most they can do for the foreseeable future. TF2 isn't doomed, as community servers can be moderated. our best bet is to make a community server system that functions like casual

@@lostforwar5619 i suppose if they want a seemingly somewhat easy method, they could develop a custom fork of vacnet for tf2 they can also fight bots at the source. legal action against known bot hosters and targeting the current *sources* of bot hosting platforms or software; making it harder for new bots to exist. all we need is for the game to be playable, and for that, we need to shatter the amount of bots there currently are

I think the bot problem has a simple fix: remake the casual mode that joins a random community server, they already have admins and can ban bots instantly, also I'd like to see competitive and official mvm gone because honestly they're pointless but still leave it in files so community can mess around

Something I think is worth mentioning on the bot crisis is, due to the resurgence of #SaveTF2 (now, #FixTF2 ), the bot hosters (particularly, the rosne bots, or the ones that advertise the rosnehook discord) are like… I don’t know if they are doing this to disrespect the movement, but the bot names are being edited to include the hashtag at the end of the names ( #FixTF2 ) which is just really disrespectful by those people, tbh. They’re actively killing the game and slandering this movement.

I always think that any game community is always impatient with development. We got a notification from an official account on twitter that they are aware last year and they just dont understand that it takes a while to work with noodle code. It sure isn't a high priority, but they are probably working on it. I still think the fixTF2 is very helpful and important to get more awareness, but I think many people will be disappointed when it, in fact, is a hard to build on game, and it takes time and work to fix a problem. It would be good if some coder people smarter than me actually try to tackle the problem from the perspective of a valve dev, and can post some helpful things to speed along the problem

Commenting as an offering to the big ol' algo. I mean, what else needs to be said that hasn't been said before? Everyone knows Valve is lazy and irresponsible for making huge bundles of cash off a game where: 1) It was a huge proponent in launching their micro-transactions and Steam market model since they used as testing grounds. 2) They continually make money off it from content and cosmetics, and most of said content and cosmetics aren't even from them. 3) Plugins already exist for easy bot detection and kicking in community servers which would be simple implementations and they can't even be bothered to do that. 4) [Insert any good argument here that I can't think of at 5 AM in the morning that I'm sure exists but can't be arsed to find.]

Valve stopped updating the game after Jungle Inferno back in 2017 in order to mitigate the fallout from the disastrous Meet Your Match update released back in 2016 made to cater to the whole Esports scene which Team Fortress 2 was never designed to be competitive in the first place like Overwatch was. Team Fortress 2 has always been a community-driven game instead. We all know Valve royally screwed over this game with the shitty Meet Your Match update and Jungle Inferno update obviously didn't fix the problem that Valve created all and instead let things head south from there and neglected the game ever since.
