@@bluemassgamer17 Yep its not nearly as clear and crisp as the voice used in villeneuve's movies. Almost sounds more organic/ gutteral. Those vibrations on the water could also be indicative of that, considering there were no rattling or vibrating things in dune part1 and 2 when the voice was used. Shows how much its been refined.

The Harkonens were not Russian per the books, the Atreides were and represented the royal house of Czar Nikolas. Dune is an allegory like the Wizard of Oz.

Valya is arguably main character of this series. Calling her evil does not do her justice, characters in dune are layered, good and bad at the same time, that's what makes the writing good

In her hands she used it to ensure the advancement of her family. And she was successful since Paul Atreides is the grandson of a Harkonnen. It makes you realize that Paul and his mother basically did the same thing as Valya. Feyd could have just as easily been the chosen one but Jessica and Paul outmaneuvered the Sisterhood.

Swear. It was such a let down. Older Valya actress did not suit the character at all. I was waiting for her to offer me some chicken soup that she just made by the fireplace on a rainy night. The key acts of every episode fell so flat and felt that the show never progressed. Also the constant jumps between time and poor editing made it inconsistent.

You know bad writing isn't the same thing as a thing being woke? After Earth has horrible writing and is definitely not woke. This looks like it is trying to hard to be sure but that is on the the writers and director who didn't understand the source material or tried to take it in a direction that is just doesn't work well with their ( writer's, director's) skill level.
