I'm a bit sad that this show isn't getting the traction it deserves! The carrying over of Denis Dune-verse, the performances, the script, pacing, I love all of it! I really hope S2 happens! Like franchise shows don't always need big action and big battles to be interesting! Intrigue and mystery are hella interesting too!

I'm really enjoying this series but a couple of things that are in the books which Valya knows (or should know from the "Other" memory passed to her by Raquella) is that Mother Superior Raquella was Vorian Atreides' granddaughter and the Corrinos are descended from Butlers and Harknonnens. Even Lila should know these things from "Other" memory. I wonder if that information will be revealed in the series or just ignored. I also wonder if Vorian is still alive at this point and if he will be appearing in the series or in a 2nd or 3rd series. I don't have a problem with deviations from the books, especially since this is an original story that is not from the books. I just think these things add layers to motives and events.

Maybe SPOILERS question: Why are the "rebels" attempting to inflict the spice addiction upon every single person in the imperium?

It's not exactly them forcing a spice addiction, rather spice is not only a drug like how they are using it at the club, but in the books its also explained that it will vastly increase your lifespan up to I think 300 years old ish. If the great houses are hording spice, the lesser houses perhaps may think that they are slowing getting choked out of power by people who will live 2-3x longer lives than they do (idk if they will actually go into this in the show)

@@splooie02 It's woke to be a woman actually. 🤦 Dune revolves totally around what the bene gesserit for the 10,000 years after the jihad, and then again still to a lesser degree after Leto II died after his 3500 year reign. And while Leto II did heavily suppress them while he was alive, he had taken over their breeding program so it stands to reason that he saw that good could be done with it. (which culminates to the no-gene in GEoD)

So you didn't read God-Emperor Of Dune, written by Frank himself, where Leto II says that an all-male military encourages homosexuality and had nothing but women as his enforcers. Or how Baron Harkonnen was also gay in the original novel. And his son not only coauthored the book this is based on, he and his coauthor were producers on the last two movies.
