They just toured with Dragonforce in the US and it looks as if they had very good reception there. I really enjoyed your reaction! Nanowar of Steel is a great mix of fun & good music! They ventured in different kinds of music such as a metal gospel "Valhalleluja", rock gothic "And Then I Noticed She Was a Gargoyle", disco music in "Disco metal", a conspiracy boy band song "Protocols of Love", a Sabaton like "Pasadena 1994" ft. J.Broden by Sabaton. Tototally unrelated to Nanowar of Steel, Sabaton released 2 years ago "Christmas Truce", a touching song about an episode of WW1. The ending vocals are performed by Floor Jansen ;-)

For me its not just satire, its also an obvious hommage. And this is probably also the reason why it works so well. You can just feel how much fun they probably had, writing recording and shooting that video. And the amount of detail that is going on, those marimba beats, the adlibs, the chorus, the short references (e.g. Cranberries - Zombie), the environmental sounds, absolute greatness.

Are you old enough to remember the Norwegian Black Metal references in the song? They reference the church arson attacks in Norway and a convicted murderer too - he killed another Norwegian Black Metal artist. It was a huge scandal in the early 1990s.
