Fantastic content. There are so many history channels, especially military and fighting vehicle history, where the channel logo is some sort of stylised picture of the channel owner's face. Whenever you see that you know that content is more about the maker's personality than the subject. I also really appreciate that the narrator makes an honest attempt at getting foreign pronounciations right. It doesn't have to be perfect but you have to make an effort, it's a question of respect.

João Goulart was a Labor president, with the support of 70% of the voters and was a democratic government of income distribution, labor guarantees and salary increases, which displeased Brazilian and multinational businessmen. President Kennedy then paid Brazilian generals and the media to carry out the coup. But the Brazilian hardline generals liked the hype and did not want to return the government to democracy. They fell of maturity, after reducing the index of human development of the country and taking it to the economic bankruptcy that never recovered. The attempt at a new democratic government that raised the Brazilian economy from 14th to 6th and drastically reduced poverty and hunger lasted 12 years until the US government financed a new coup, again with the media, the judiciary and the armed forces.

His policy was more or less similar to the prime minister of Iran, Mohammad Mossadegh, who suffered a coup orchestrated by CIA and MI6. The same happened to Brazil. A mix of red scare and obnoxious interests from US.

Fun facts for Americans and another people: 1. Actually Brazil is bigger than the USA only losing cause the giant Alaska. 2. Brazil HDI is one position higher than China// Brazil (84) - China (85) 3. In Brazil they don't talk Spanish, they talk Portuguese. 4. Brazil was at his first one respectful monarchy empire. 5. Brazil is the only country the entire southern hemisphere capable of to build submarines (this decade they will build their first nuclear submarine) their own fighters (Although without a doubt, if Australia wanted to, it could too). Have control of thermobaric technology (the "Trocano" being the second or third most powerful thermobaric bomb in the world). 6. The Brazilian Santos Dumont was the first to fly in a device that took off by its own engine and that is why in Brazil it is considered that he was the real inventor of the modern airplane. 7. Brazil has its own space agency, with a launch base and they have already created 3 different rocket prototypes and several satellites since the 1980s, but the launches were not successful. 8. One of the best rocket/missiles launchers in the world is the Brazilian Astros 2020. 9. The favelas are small concentrations of very poor population that have only appeared in the interior of the Brazilian metropolises (Rio, São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza ...) Brazil is not entirely like that. 10. Brazil is a giant mix of all kinds of races, being almost as diverse as the US. And it is the country with the largest number of Japanese, Irish, Italians etc in the world (so I don't think the country is that horrible).

@@thesketchydude1315 nope, Brazil, the only South American country to receive Shermans through lend-lease during ww2, pretty much tried to 'nationalize' the sherman, in order to not only extend its service life, but later also as an attempt to learn more about tank building and so on. what i remember is that they either copied or mounted the HVSS from a vehicle they owned (i think an M78 but not completely sure). I talk a bit more about these sherman projects in the actual article on the website under the PqRMM/2 chapter and in the moto-pecas chapter, but im not sure about the last one. Nevertheless, an article on the Shermans will be written in the future.

I guess it's to be expected but the mispronunciation of LITERALLY every name is just painful. The misuse of accentuation and misspelling in names like Olímpio Mourão Filho, put onscreen as Olìmpio Maurãl Filho is just lazy. I can understand not checking every single name but he has wikipedia pages in portuguese AND english. It's like if someone made a video on US in WW2 and they talked about president "Franklin D. Rosvalto". The narrative is also heavily reliant on what the US would report to civilians at the time, but without mentioning the CIA orchestration of the military coup via years of propaganda and the effective recruitment of said Brazilian generals against the president that threatened the interests of 3 large US companies( chief of which was a logging operation that directly contacted the ambassador) with a program to redistribute Demonstrably Unused land to impoverished families. Also, lets not even mention US Operation Brother Sam, which involved the shipping of 100 tons of small arms and munitions to Brazillian military supporting the coup right before it happened, as well as the involvement of a heli-carrier, 50 helicopters, a Forrestal class aircraft carrier, six destroyers, one battleship, one troop carrier and 25 C-135 planes with most of the ships being on standby 12-50 miles from Rio de Janeiro during the coup in case things got ugly.
