Oh my Gosh! I've been press ganged into being a first time GM after FIFTEEN YEARS of not playing Vampire and 10 since I've played any TTRPG. I said "Okay, I'll do a module and we'll try a one-shot" and my friends replied, "Absolutely not, you're writing it, coward." I had a pretty clear idea for a murder mystery, but I'm used to writing stories with one outcome which I control. I wasn't able to break the concept open in a way that translated to character sheets and a means to improvise them. Your "adjective noun who verbs" format trick made it click and I banged out a relationship map (and what topics my suspects would lie about in conversation) in like an hour. I'd been stressing for days! It also adds so much more depth to start by imagining them before their embrace. Thank you for helping me outsmart my beloved, terrible friends!

Ayyy! Awesome! My first introduction to World of Darkness was in a DAV20 game set in Prague, year 1197. I've been in it for 2 years now, and I ended up owning the community server for it. Everything's honestly been a blast, and the community we've grown is amazingly cohesive and supportive. Honestly, Vampire Modern just doesn't strike nearly the chord with me as Dark Ages does, and DA just feels like the real golden era, closest to high fantasy themes while being so grounded and gritty. Especially if you start at the bottom and work your way up with research and enthusiasm. My community is also a text based game (PBP, play by post) and its truly become the most rewarding way to play a tabletop. Everything feels more tangible when you get to write out the detail and add images and art to your channels and posts. Absolutely enriching experience. The only problem we ever have is just finding the right people with the right heart for the writing and willingness to put in effort to do the research for the period, or that can take critiques or input for writing backstories (A required step to play.). :T

Also, (thank you for the like ♥) I'm currently just watching this while attending Elysium in PBP, and freaking BLESS YOU for emphasizing the focus on MORTALITY FIRST. Our server has had a LOT of players struggle with that idea, going straight into "I am Clan X, and now I'm here, in Y. What do I do?" Welllllll... what actually brought you to this place? "My sire sent me here." Why? "I dunno." What were you doing in life before you got here? "What do you mean?" What were you like as a mortal? "I dunno. I'm a vampire now." Okay but what were they like as a child, who were their parents? What did their family do? How was their relationship with their family? What were their dreams or aspirations or plans for their future as a mortal? Did they want to just survive, have children, a business, travel, become famous, or simply educated in a particular skill that paid well? There's huge importance into how a vampire approaches their life as an immortal based on who they were in their mortal life, whether they feel freed and powerful now, blessed, cursed, at odds with themselves and others, completely lost, inventing themselves anew, or are in complete misery and desperate for answers. Maybe entering Cainite society has given them the tools and support they never would have had otherwise, and would have died a gruesome and useless death, but now they can make a greater impact, if at the sacrifice of of walking in the sun or enjoying their favorite meal, or ever having (true) children. Or, would they somehow become hellbent and determined to seeks ways to still do those things, despite the insanity and almost complete impossibility of it. (I say almost because Necromancers have their ways...) (Matthew, please forgive me if I watch this video in parts and end up trying to hold a "conversation" about this stuff in the comments. lol)

35:45 Really a balance, min max then make sure you dial it back to fit concept, then you end up good at what you do and your sire will be proud. I’m think a combat malkavian, Viking from 8th century, who protected their seer sire’s position all these years. Close to Gangrel … I’m also currently watching the Vikings TV show so my inspiration is from there

I really do prefer V20 and the other 20th anniversary versions of WoD compared to the current editions. I'm very glad to see this sale. Dark Ages is one of my favourite settings. Beaten only by the Victorian books. I really like how you can make a dark fantasy/gothic horror combo with Dark Ages. So I will be sitting down with a cup of tea, ready to watch all of this in one go.

There's no denying the obvious reasons why piracy is bad. But at there are good things about piracy, like the fact that you can't get scammed as a customer. So when you're able, you can purchase the product you want to support when convenient later if you admit it would've been worth buying. Although this does raises morality of honestly and consistency issues. Like, where do you draw the line if something was okay, very good, great or perfect to be worth paying by your own standards? Keeping yourself from being in denial, just to save money. But content creators have embraced piracy in practical uses, to where they use pseudo-piracy sites for exposure, for example. I don't know how relevant this is to all kinds of digital products, like books. But myself, I've contributed full price to many products I got full access to for free in advance this way. To give credit and appreciation where it's due, and in hopes of more, similar content. So even if someone is the dirties, greediest freeloader scumbag, remember that your contribution can result in more and sooner future products.
