Tzimisce are hands down my favorite clan. I feel like they get a bad rep because people (including in setting shovelheads) don't appreciate the hidden lesson of metamorphosis: to become a butterfly, one must earnestly be a caterpillar.

I was waiting for this video, so I could learn how to pronounce Tzimisce
@ThePrimogen5 жыл бұрын
Haha, don't be too sure I'm saying it right though, I've heard it pronounced a lot more ways.
@Colorcrayons3 жыл бұрын
In the sabbat sourcebook circa 2nd ed, they phonetically pronounce it as "Zhim-ee-see or say". From my own hungarian background, the wordwould be pronounced by magyar speakers as "Zhim-uh-say". The pronunciation spoken in the video seems to be from someone whose native tongue is latin based, like italian or spanish, so that filter causes it to become abberant. For precision, say the word "jim", but replace the hard 'j' with an "sh" sound, while pressing a 'z' sound right before that. "Zhim". The next syllable is easy. Just a soft "uh". The ended with a slightly inflected "say". Pronouncing the last syllable "see" isnt unforgivable, but "say" is closer to correct native tonality.

Just want to thank you for mentioning whom the tzimisce like to embrace. I've been looking for awhile but never got a concrete answer (which makes building character concepts tough).

No worries! It's kind of buried in the clan book and it's so full of other stuff it's easy to miss. I really recommend the Revised Edition Clan Book (and the Guide to the Sabbat) if you're looking for more inspo! :D

@@ThePrimogen It's more for fun as finding a v20 game seems like a Herculean task in itself. My concept was for more of spiritual tzimisce who was a shovel head and his first victim was another unfortunate soul who he unwittingly diablerized.

Awesome. I love the structure. I will be thrilled to see the new direction of the clan in times of V5. They have a rich history, but unfortuneately, the capathian landlord body horror Sabbat thing is rather one-dimensional and restrictive, especially when many notable members of the clan, like Lambach the drunk, are dipicted seemingly without any modifications. It feels like the picture of Tzimisce is either stuck in the dark ages or dominated by the picture of the splatter horror pinhead of the Sabbat. No exceptions. Unfortuneatly, every homebrew for V5 I have seen so far also seems to celebrate this one-dimensional murderous image of the fiends. Personally, I find it has the taste of a stale, once of twice rebrewed filter coffee - or just another sequel to Saw, Paranormal Activity or The Purge.
@ThePrimogen5 жыл бұрын
Sooner or later I'll be heading into V5 with my videos and I'm also looking forward to learning more about what's been going on with the Voivodes since we saw them last. I think there's a lot to be learned from studying the paths of the Sabbat to truly try to get into their alien mindset.
@deathclawow4 жыл бұрын
It's actually much more nuanced than you put it but Azhi Dahaka can be many things Tzimisce philosophy is just as developed as other philosophies perhaps more so than some, so there is actually lots of opportunity for creativity with it. To this end I think marrying the Tzimisce concept with some of the concepts of ascension from Mage really improves the ability to create more ideologies for characters. The clan is really only limited by the creativity at the table.

09:15 The Shapeshifters of Gaia would flip if they found out how much of the world this being assimilated, let alone that they could not detect its Wyrm Taint or were able to stop it. Indeed, I wonder how he managed to not "win" the End Times before it was retconned into not happening again (yet). Also, can you explain how they undid the events of the original End Times novels when they decided to bring back the old setting into the present in a future video? Indeed, I was disappointed in the original endings as each setting had a different ending that did not fit together and the survivors of the original Gehenna ending were Cain and a certain Gangrel Archaeologist. Everyone else was axed...because body count. :-/

7:30 Hum, ego. So, if some clan would have embraced the Greek hero Aquiles that would likely be Tzimisce!? I had not considered this possibility, but it sure makes an interesting start for an NPC. If fellow was invulnerable in life, except for that small vulnerability, and kept the divine armour to his vampiric existence. We are talking about an absolutely invulnerable vampire with no heels. And the face of an Greek demigod. Perhaps he has the body of a giant serpent bellow his waist. He is certainly still the commander of his army of elite warriors. Possibly some of them are even from the original myrmidons. This is a vampire invulnerable to sunlight, invulnerable to fire, invulnerable to claws and fangs of supernatural beings, who cannot be penetrated by a wooden stake. He is only vulnerable when he takes a human form with heels, and only the heels are vulnerable (not very likely for anyone to kill a vampire attacking that part of the body). Perhaps he chooses to move around in a wheelchair instead of grow legs, when social circumstances demand him to pretend to be human? In any case, the PCs probably need to go around him, or negotiate with his agents. Since that's a situation no one is likely to solve by trowing heavy force at it.

Oh. I found it. Shadow lords tribebook WW3058, PG. 26. "Without the support of the Shadow lords, what would have been the dynasty of Vladimir Draculea fell before the onslaught of the ottoman Turks." Dracula is Missing presumed dead, any shadow Lord support is dead, and the tzimisce was kicked out by ventrue crusades in mid 15th century, with Shadow Lord help.

According to the wiki they claimed he was destroyed in 1475, but a LOT of the VtM lore says he's still around late into the 90s, possibly even the 00s, plus he plays a major role in the lore as well, so it's quite possibly they either a) Lied, to save face from their previous support of the count, or b) Killed a body double, or assumed they had killed him when he wasn't dead.
