The VtM Shadows o,f New York gives an exceptional illustration of the Embrace. I always thought it was, not unlike Vampiric existence itself, a fascinating combination of intimacy and trauma.

I paraphrase that series of lines from Shadows to my players every time I start a new chronicle and describe the embrace. "She is making love to me. She is killing me. She is giving birth to me."

Why do vampies reprouce? Misery loves company. Even the thought of suffering alone is maddening to mortals. How much more could this be for a creature that can feel more than any mortal ever could and for far longer than any Mortal could?

Each clan have their own ways to emraced which it’s indeed interesting giving away by the sect as well, There’s always a reasons for a vampire to exist. And for that vampire had to give themselves reasons to exist, or they would’ve simply become an blind slave to their sire.,

Or you could do it like the Gangrel do it find a potential Hunter of some kind. Embrace him and then completely abandon him to fend for himself. While occasionally the Gangrel and question will stalk their child. And check in from time to time and let them figure out what they are.

@@ThePrimogen because they're gangrels they're all about the hunting you know being animals. You know the law of the jungle if you're not strong enough to figure out what you are. Or what you're capable of then you would never meant to be a vampire in the first place. Or you're not as fit as you should be you're not a true alpha male we're kind of like thin bloods. When they're sire abandons them although this doesn't happen to all gangrels. Is he Gangrel embrace people who are Hunters of some kind. Predators in life and in rebirth now that you become a true. Predator you have to figure out what your claws can do now. You have to figure out what you can do and you got to figure out what you can't to do. Or risk being hunted down by the camarilla or the anarchs and. Then you'll be stuck into a blood hunt and if you're caught then you deserve to die. Survival of the fittest and all that nonsense.

@@stitchybear6654 it's all about the hunt it's all about proving yourself to be the fittest. If you're not fit then you don't deserve to live. But if you can figure out and navigate your way through the world of Darkness. Did you succeeded in becoming a true Gangrel. To travel the world to not be tied down to learn for yourself what the world is like instead of having someone tell you. What you should and shouldn't do it's all about freedom.

What’s there to survive? They’re immortal. The need for procreation shouldn’t exist, no? Especially since they stay out of politics and keep to their own. And from a survivalist perspective why wouldn’t their oldest and most potent embrace again? Why does a 12th generation gangrel embrace if not for a longing for companionship? The gangrel are the loneliest and they embrace because they find kindred spirits.

The illustrations are well choosed and transitioned, but it is the text and the voice over that are on point; surprisingly so. The longing, fading notes in the end were truly the sign of an artist. Just on time for the Blood Hunt and Bloodlines installments in the Horizon. As an all time reader, VtM long fan and an ocasionally voice over professional I salute you and your work, as well as your good taste and savoir faire.

I need to go searching through some rules but some where (maybe one of the newer versions?) It's stated that a new childe starts off at a level 2 blood bond with thier sire, so at least in the beginning there is the "love" of the blood bond to keep a new childe in line.

I'm not sure if it's a level 2 bloodbond, but I agree that there is a bloodbond for sure. This is a good insulation against immediate rebellion, of course, but as we saw with the Anarch revolt even those blood bonds were finally broken when it became clear that their sires were throwing the childer at the witch hunts of the Inquisition or at their enemies without a care for their survival.

I believe it's actually a level 1 bloodbond, on account of having essentially been the Childers first feeding of their sires blood. You might be thinking of the Tremere, since their blood is twice as potent for the purposes of bonding. Because of this, some interpret the childer to start at a level 2 bond in the case of Tremere.

In the Vampire novel that I am writing. A Vampire cannot choose anyone to become a Vampire for not everyone can become a Vampire it all depends on the soul of the individual. If a person has been an Asshole all their life they cannot be chosen as a Vampire their souls have weak psychic might that makes it impossible to create one, but if the person who has repressed and caged all their negative and dark desires all their lives and were victims of violent and traumatic ways then that Soul has a boost of psychic will that makes the soul burn brighter making it a perfect candidate for the embrace.

In my story, Vampires can either reproduce the same way Humans do or by biting someone. So there are what are called Natural Vampires and Artificial Vampires. Natural Vampires tend to be stronger and know how to deal with being a Vampire more than Artificial Vampires but it's nearly impossible to tell the difference between them and they rarely face any discrimination in Vampire Society. I mostly have this difference because the Main character is a Dhampir (Vampire Mother and Human Father) so I needed Vampires to be able to reproduce normally along side being able to be embraced (or turned as it's called in my story).
