It's such a weird tonal shift to hear this sinister, haughty voice tell us about vampires...and then say at the end "please like and subscribe, it really does mean a lot to me" LOL

As much as I like Ravnos's added Nicknames (Rogues, Ravens) I wish they had the title of "The Clan Of Mythos" digging into their cultures and taking on their ancestry as descendents of Mythological Trickster Gods, building their foundation and status upon figures like Anansi, Loki, Hermes etc.

Despite the fact it's forced on them under threat of final death, I really respect their outlook on enjoying freedom and vice. You've been cursed with immortality, not enjoying yourself would cause you to go insane. Clan Ravnos is easily one of my favs

Though my interactions with the Rogues have been sparse, one such stands out in my mind. For I have never met a more courteous, chivalrous, and true kindred than the wandering minstrel Leopold, of the Ravnos blood. Leopold came to my domain to seek shelter from the sun and the inquisition, both of which were nipping at his heels. He was hunting another of his clan for terrible transgressions, you see, and found himself in unfamiliar lands. In exchange for news from neighboring courts and trusting my sight to pierce his illusions, I accepted him. We spoke at length about his quest to destroy his clan brother. He detested the deceptions and tricks his clan trafficked in, and detested the well-earned distrust they recieved in return. They are, by their nature, nomads. Strangers wherever they go. Would it not be wiser for them to be known as trustworthy and honorable, if they must constantly make new acquaintances? He despised being hunted, shunned, and locked out for what his unchosen brethren did. So he hunted the worst of them. If he could eliminate the worst of the lot, perhaps one night he would not be turned away at the door of princes when he mentioned his bloodline. In the end, I helped him slay his quarry. My warriors without death have no minds that can be tricked, and could not be fooled by the fugitives illusions. I follow Leopolds exploits from afar. There, I think, is a Neonate who may just change the world one night.

I'm reminded of a popular "would you rather" question from my highschool: "Would you rather live in prison for a year, or out of your car for a year?" The issue is every time I said "Get an RV instead of a car and spend the year doing a cross country road trip." The others would move the goalpost and say that doesn't count as a car. It's almost like people don't actually like it when you think of a creative new solution to fix a bad situation. As if showing that there are other ways to live outside of an oppressive system makes people uncomfortable. Like people would rather just complain about a problem than do anything to actually fix it. Or maybe, just maybe, I'm overthinking this.

Getting an RV is against the spirit of the question. As someone who lives in a cold northern country, I would rather go to prison. Prisons are not even that bad in my country lol. But I also don't own a car. You have to be 18 in order to get a driving license here anyhow and you mentioned highschool.

OH DEAR. This was not creative problem solving, my young friend, you pulled a Marie Antoinette 😂. If you werent young, this would be embarrassing. It seems you misunderstood the nature and purpose of the question. Because you seem very young, I give you benefit of doubt. But if you were mature adult this comes off tone deaf, bratty and obnoxious. Its like when they told the french queen "the people are starving they have no bread" and she said "why not let them eat cake" ie she was so privileged and rich, she is assuming everyone has access to cake easily because she does. I dont think you realized what this question is really about? In REAL LIFE, in the US, if a person cannot afford rent and they sleep homeless on street, park etc ,*they get put in jail *. US jail is not nice. My brother has been in jail for 3 yrs just for homelessness. They arrest him for loitering, 3 mos jail, when released on probation, he can never get to see his Parole officer or attend court dates, because he cannot get there to pay buses, has no address for forms to be sent etc. So when he no-show, they put a bench warrant on him. When he inevitably gets picked up again for walking around homeless, "loitering", they run his name and the system say he has warrant so they have to take him to jail for breaking parole. Now 9 mos time. Released then on probation, and cycle starts again. So the point is, maybe in this situation if you owned a car, you can sleep in that. So that's why it's a regular car vs jail. I lived in a van once. People who become homeless CANNOT AFFORD RVS. Not just the upfront cost of the RV but the cost of waste and water hookups, camp fees nevermind terrible gas mileage cost etc. Even if this were not purposefully referencing a reality with working-poor Americans, the car was chosen specifically *because it's small, cramped, difficult to live in, *just as prison is*. So you just didn't understand this type of question. It is NOT a "problem solving" question where the only limit is your imagination. A problem solving question would be harder to solve outside box. This is like the old "freeze or burn to death?" question the ENTIRE point is to force you to think WITHIN constraints - for a REASON. This CAN be as deep, meaningful and even creative as "thinking outside the box" or moreso. When an "outside box" answer is obvious and easy like this, it's a tip off that the question is NOT a problem to solve, but rather a difficult choice to reconcile. What you, personally are willing to sacrifice, and for what, reveals something about what you value most, perhaps something about your character. There's no right/wrong answer. The point is NOT to "get out if it" For example, it's like with old poetry, say a sonnet -- the point is what you can create *while constrained* by rigid conventions of meter and end rhyme patterns. Its actually more impressive and difficult to produce creativity under the constrained form. To say "oh well instead of a couplet at the endbof my sonnet, I'm going to do a triplet, because my imagery fits better thaf way" isn't "thinking outside the box", it's more akin to "taking the easy way out", or cheating.

I mean, I don't think an RV is a car. It's an automobile, sure, but... When someone says a "car" I kind of specifically exclude vehicles like trucks and RVs. Moreover, a car is a lot less expensive than an RV.

This quote was uttered in the context of geopolitics, but I find it applies in so many other facets of life: *"Everybody wants their independence... until they run out of money."* --Sir Humphrey Appleby, "Yes, Prime Minister" ;)

On one hand their v5 disciplines make sense, but on the other, they have nothing to really help them in a real fight if they don’t hide well enough.

The European ravnos are primarily Romani, and as a romani myself its funny how much ravnos culture is directly lifted from romani (gypsy) culture even the blood burning if you sleep in the same place, we have an old word about never letting your head rest in the same place twice. And I think by refering them as balkan and not romani it misses a big part of ravanos, even our indian history and the indian connection ravanos has.

Those have mostly been cut, Ravnos now have a huge Mythological aspect to them being around and centered around Mythologies as their ancestry, Norse, Greek usually Trickster Gods, they're now found everywhere in the world in Europe.

not sure what sort of romani you are, but the ones over here have no such old word about never letting your head rest in the same place twice. And what you see from Ravnos doesn't much their culture either.

"Those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither, and will find they have neither." Benjamin Franklyn In total security you have tyranny of the state. In absolute freedom you find tyranny of the people. In perfect order there is only stagnation, in anarchy nothing can be built.

I wonder if we will hear about one of the other effects of the Week Of Nightmares, the grand proliferation of The Risen. Not that The Risen were absent from the world before the Week Of Nightmares, but they were exceptionally rare, & are what most would refer to a Revenant in D&D terms. The unquiet dead, or ghosts for a better term, reclaiming their bodies to walk among the living again.
