All the mechanisms in this seem neat, just a shame it's so narrow in scope that they don't have room to breathe and let the choices feel more meaningful. It seems like having a second round of drafting before the attack with a single round of monster draft in-between would help give some foresight and cut down on some of the very swingy luck.

being more meaningful would mean a longer game, what is fun here is that it's quick and snappy, allowing banter and tricky choices

I think what you missed is that it’s called Vampire Village. Draft and Die is not what it’s called.
