SAME EXACTLY!
@kismet329 ай бұрын
This list is totally incorrect! Just for a couple at the start - Claudia, while 5, was created by Lestat, after he had already drank from multiple ancients. Baby Jenks was from unknown, diluted bloodlines. Claudia had way more power than Baby Jenks. Jessica was created by Maharet, who was 6000 years old, the 5th vampire ever created, and so close in power to the other Ancient Ones that distinguishing power up to Queen of the Damned would have been nearly impossible between Maharet, Mekare, and Khayman. Enkil was more powerful than Khayman at the time of Queen of the Damned, as Akasha made him first and completely drained him and refilled him to create him - that makes a big difference, and Maharet drained and refilled Jessica multiple times during her creation, so much so that when Marius first encountered her she was already one of the most powerful vampires in Maharet's sanctum at one day old, being still full of human blood and life, but already taking on the marble like qualities of the Ancient Ones, and no need to feed whatsoever. How you rank her below minor vampires like Nicholas de Lenfent (who was the second fledgling of Lestat, who was an extremely powerful fledgling at the time, but had already created Gabrielle) and others of his ilk is bizarre. Similarly, Daniel Molloy was the first Fledgling of Armand (who was made by Marius, who had already drank from Akasha, and was himself 500 years old), and again given huge amounts of his blood. I could keep going on, but this list is just completely wrong.

It's complicated list that would vary depending on where in the time line of the books were taking each vampire from. Most of it I would get behind, I think that Marius and the twins are palced too low, and Lestat is definitely placed too high. If he were more powerful/stronger than Akasha he wouldn't have needed help to take her down in QOTD, and even after he submitted to the twins. Many of the true ancients, would rank above him as well imo.
@spicy_kitty798311 ай бұрын
he was powerful through drinking Akasha's blood. none of the other ancients drank her blood. moreover he didn't really want to kill her, and couldn't have anyway without killing himself and all the others since she held the sacred core. the twins were only able to kill her because they consumed the core (a callback to their ancient religious practices) which is something the others (Lestat) wouldn't have thought of. But that doesn't necessarily mean they were stronger. By the events of Memnoch through Blood Canticle Lestat was basically indestructible and unkillable. That's why after QotD Anne had to put him in different types of situations where his strength wouldn't really be able to help him all that much (Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch, Blackwood Farm)
@liamrichard-howes584011 ай бұрын
@@spicy_kitty7983 I can't agree with you on all of this .... I think you're stretching beyond what i cannon. Many of the ancients had drunk for Akasha, Marius certainly had drunk from her much more than any others ... so based on that logic exclusively Marius would be more powerful than Lestat. In QOTD it's made pretty clear that Lestat isn't able to overpower Akasha, it takes multiple vampires to overpower her to that the twins are able to take the brain and heart. I believe Lestat was put in different situations because multiple books of Lestat meeting, falling in love and turning a human would get boring, and it allowed her to flesh out other plot points, like the Talamasca, the Mayfair witches, etc., Lestat was just her favourite because he was so innately flawed ... remember Interview was Anne processing her grief, and Lestat was the escape, the light of overcoming that grief and so was a character that Anne needed to embrace, at last based on her public discussions on him.

Because he drank from several powerful vampires including Akasha, and then he absorbed the sacred core (Amel) from Mekare (Mekare had absorbed the core upon Akasha's death). So with the sacred core inside him, and having absorbed Mekare's power when he killed her, he became the most powerful vampire ever.

@@tompearce5418 Yes but the vampire chronicles didn't end with the book Queen of the Damned. There were like 10 other books after that. In the book Prince Lestat, Mekare asked him to take the sacred core from her, once he did that he became the most powerful vampire ever. I get the impression that this ranked list has more to do with personal preference than logic. Rice vampires are powerful because of 1. longevity, 2. who made them 3. whose blood they consumed and how much of it. So clearly the ancient ones are the most powerful. The twins drank of Akasha and took the life giving power of ALL vampires into them. So clearly without a doubt they are the most powerful vampires that are still alive. Lestat is maybe the coolest one but I wouldn't even put him in the top 5.

Ok, commenting in the midst of this video, I just didn't want to lose my thoughts: I personally would place Nicolas de Lenfant a little bit more down of this list: Yes, he has Lestat's blood, which, coming from Magnus, would have been an old, strong bloodline; but he didn't have the mental stability to ever be(come) a vampire (and Lestat and his mum Gabrielle (especially her) knew it). This greatly impacts his powers. For the same reason, just in reverse, so to speak, I would place Gabrielle higher. Bloodline is the same; but she's more or less a "born vampire" (yepp, I know this sentence doesn't make sense in a "literal" way 😂), unafraid, ruthless, eager to try everything (sleeping in the earth, for example), doesn't seem the slightest bit woried about that she has to kill to feed herself (she even kills a boy for his size of the clothes he's wearing, so she can take and wear them); has no problems at all, as it seems, to be by herself, and exist *for* herself. Imagine her becoming a few thousand years old, mostly unimpressed by what usually is the greatest weakness to the Anne-Rice-characters: emotions.
@howlpendragon14605 ай бұрын

Poor Vittorio. Forgotten by all. With so many vamps in the chronicles its not surprising some have been overlooked. The nerd in me wants to point out the mistakes and omissions. The most "powerfull" is not a measure that Anne Rice even bothered herself with (internet lists were not a thing back then). And "most powerfull" is entirely dependent upon when in the narrative we are talking about. After Akasha got dead it was Maharet/Mekare by orders of magnitude. Maharet chained up Lestat with her hair. As the books went on more and more ludicrously old vamps got introduced, it just got daft. Pedantic point... Lestats maker was ugly, not the man hotty used in the video. And also bizarrely back as a ghost. Force ghost vamps....lol. Oh anne rice, much shark jumping was done.

Great video! I actually think most of the ancient ones (First Brood and Children of the Millennia) would burn Lestat and Armand without difficulty. Lestat says something on this topic in Prince Lestat. And Akasha, Kayman, Mekare and Maharet should be the most powerful ones. The reason Lestat is so powerful despite being so young is that he drank from Akasha several times in QoTD, but at the time Armand drank from him in Interview he was just a fledgling. Armand sucked Lestat's blood just because he was obsessed with him, not for his powers but for intimacy. Gabrielle and Nicki were also pretty weak because Lestat made them as a fledgling and hadn't drunk from Akasha yet. Louis was stronger because Lestat had drunk from both Akasha and Marius at that point, but before the end of Merrick was still pretty weak for a vampire. After exchanging blood with Lestat several times he's probably as powerful as David though. Also Alessandra and some other ancient ones should be more powerful than Armand and Louis for sure. Chrisante, Severaine, Gregory, Seth and Cyril were also First Brood and surely equal or superior to Rosh. Bianca and Armand are probably pretty powerful at this point: both drank from Marius, who drank from Akasha, but Bianca drank directly from Akasha and Armand took Lestat's blood again after Memnoch. Lestat also drank from Gregory in Prince Lestat and the Realm of Atlantis, so he's probably in the top10 list at this point. If we count his skills, generosity, braveness, luck and charisma along with his powers I agree he should be first, though ❤.

Can someone explain why Lestat is so powerful? I'm confused by the explanation in the video. Did he just consume more ancient blood than everyone else? How did that make him more powerful than one who consumed Akasha and the core? Anyone rising to become more powerful than Akasha seems to be a case of a spring rising higher than its source
@mieroth2 ай бұрын
This is the Lestat at the end of the series who has consumed the core himself. And adding on top of him feeding off of very powerful vampires for a long period of time. Compared to ancient vampires who have been in sleep or in stasis for centuries, and perhaps haven't "powered-up" by any means other than aging. There's definitely a debate to be had, but I can understand reading Lestat as being the strongest by the series' end. He's out here killing ancient vampires single-handedly at that point. 😂 And seeing Akasha as the strongest works if you see her as the ceiling for power, but in this series it definitely seems like vampires can just continue growing stronger and stronger with no ceiling in sight. 🤔
@Norbingel2 ай бұрын
@@mieroth I don't really know much about the whole series (I read Interview and Lestat and watched Queen, all a LONG time ago. That's about it apart from what I learned from this channel). How did Lestat consume the core when it says someone else consumed it? Also, even if a vampire could get stronger over time, surely Akasha has existed (even in just awake state) much longer than he in addition to being the first. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to offer an explanation!
@mieroth2 ай бұрын
Same way Mekare did! She ate Akasha's brain and inherited the sacred core, and Lestat in the 11th book ate Mekare's brain and inherited the core, though in that case it wasn't forced and Mekare gave up her life. In the books vampires don't only get stronger with age, that's only one factor. And Lestat also has drunk from a LOT of old vampires, while Akasha was sleeping for a lot of her existence. Like I said it can be argued though, it's not wrong to see Akasha as the strongest, but there's also a good reason as to why many people consider Lestat to be the strongest vampire by the end of the series.

@@Norbingel from what I heard in the older books lestat gets a big power boost thanks to drinking blood from powerful sources plus getting the core

I'd say Claudia definitely ranks above Daniel, because she may have lacked in body size, but mentally she was strong. Daniel was physically mature but driven mad by Armand. Armand himself is a whole other subject when it comes to Claudia. I would argue she was a much stronger vampire than given credit for because of her physical, not mental, age. She hunted for sport, not because she couldn't subdue any person she wanted. The only reason Madeleine was created was so Claudia could have someone front as her mother. Sorry for the rant.

I appreciate the ranking, but I have to disagree. Mekare was more powerful than Akasha due to her power and the curse she laid upon Akasha. She also easily knocked her sister down too. Not only that, but she housed Amiel after she defeated Akasha. Lestat was the most powerful, but that was because he drank from Lucifer and God himself, the creator of all.

Mekare absorbed Akasha's power upon her death, which included taking the sacred core into her. When Lestat absorbed the sacred core and Mekare's power, that made him the most powerful vampire ever. It makes sense that he is listed as number one. Because if you absorb the power of the most powerful vampire ever, that then puts you at the top.
@hollyvanwye929411 ай бұрын
Lestat is essentially un-killable, which makes him #1 on the power list. Both Akasha and Mekare could be and were KILLED.
@thetokenwon50611 ай бұрын
@hollyvanwye9294 if the first vampire can be killed it stands to reason that lestat could be killed its just that he's so loved and protected by other that no one will act on it.
@hollyvanwye929411 ай бұрын
I agree that Lestat lives a charmed life but it's his creator, Anne Rice, who decreed that he can't be killed. Several of her characters call him 'un-killable" and while that may not seem logical, within the confines of the storyline it's a fact.
