Bailey Alexis Snow The film 'Interview With The Vampire' based on the Anne Rice novel is almost exactly what you describe and is often heralded as one of the best vampire films to date. Probably worth a watch, I'm a big gothic horror fan and love anything vampires, it's the best I've seen that truly captures the struggle of a newly made vampire.

Fun fact: the word Vampyr is not actually misspelled if you're speaking in the Medieval Southeastern Romanian language. It's debatable where the word "Vampire" and "Vampiric" first came into use, but the when is not so mysterious. For more information please read The World of Lore Monstrous Creatures, the first section of the book is entirely on the undead and the first two chapters on Vampires. It's also an amazing book by an amazing author. And oh man I cannot wait to play this game!!!!

Funnily enough, one of the problems the police faced in trying to figure out who Jack the Ripper was was the amount of butchers and fishermen and so on who would be walking around covered in blood with a bunch of knives on them, so someone saying that they saw a man covered in blood would be basically worthless.

As a real life vampire, the worst weakness is Garlic, the sun is easy to avoid, between clothing options, sunscreen, keeping curtains closed, and wearing sunglasses. Crosses don't really do anything, that is just silly. But garlic... do you know how many foods, meals and restaurants have garlic in them? Or onions, onions are also deadly... ugh... and most none meats are kinda bad, some worse than others. But garlic and onions are in everything nowadays, and they can kill me. ;~; Also sharp teeth are a bit of a worry, constantly chipping them as a child and the constant cuts and sores from cutting the inside of my mouth is horrible, so that is kinda a bad weakness. In the modern era though we can get injections, a few years ago I would have had to have a blood transfusion once a week, but nowadays I can get an injection every 3 months instead. Also Vampires aren't even infectious, that is a lie! Hmm, hearing is also a weakness in a way... super sensitive hearing is horrible in such a noisy world, like the migraines the difficulty concentrating, it is all horrific, I literally find myself wishing I was deaf at times because it is horrendous, just so much noise, leaves me crying in agony more than I wish recollect. Also heat... the sun and bright light is kinda annoying... but heat is much harder to escape, air conditioning is rare in britain, but any temp above 15℃ is like the flaming pits of hell. Like aghhhhh. Why?! Being a vampire has a few advantages though, like cold resistance, strength, endurance, being able to see in very low light, being able to hear really well, fast healing. (I legitimately have a number of heath complications that basically make me a vampire as described above. Probably people like me that inspired the various myths in the first place. But yes garlic and onions are the most inconvenient weakness of the modern "vampire")

The whole "no reflection" bit is due to the fact that mirrors originally used to be backed by silver, which is why Vampires would not see a reflection in one. Any mirror without silver in it (most modern ones, for example), would show a vampire's reflection, no problem. Not that I'm speaking from experience...

Would a vampire leave fingerprints? If their skin doesn’t produce the same oils as a regular living person’s, then it would probably require some other kind of medium (ink, grease, or dare I say blood) in order to make the impression to stick to an object. I never considered forensic study in regards to vampiric physiology, but I would definitely go back to college for THAT course!

Just my opinion, I thought the opposite. Boring ability trees, awkward combat/camera, crafting looks more like a chore that's not needed, and the world looks bland and uninteresting. I'll wait for a bundle of sale. You know Steam will have it with some Gothic bundle in 3 months.

Jane in vampire lore you have to drink the blood of a vampire, then you die and are reborn as a vampire. The only creature you become when bitten is a werewolf.
