I liked this game fine, had some problems with, like having to look for and remember certain peoples' locations, having Vampire powers that are not all that amazing and feeling overall pretty weak for an immortal hellbeast. The story was alright for me too, nothing awful, but I think it raised alot more questions than it answered. But when poor William Marshall told his tale, it actually got my eyes watering a bit, and a big part of that was this sombre yet tranquil music. Easily my favorite part of the game.

When I heard this song it made me feel so sad. Sad but at peace. Perfect song for this scene.

its melancholic.. I still dont understand why Jonathan Reid can walk around under sunlight when its clearly midday outside Elizabeth's hiding castle.

I think that was added to increase the drama of the situation. In other words, Jonathon did not care about dying if it meant he would see elizabeth sooner. That's just an interpretation 🫡

Very touching , it feels so sad as if someone dying between your hands and you can’t do anything about it

It brings out the sadness of being a cursed creature

at the same time it brings out the calmness in William's dialogue. it is the culmination of the peace and sorrow in his confinement, and nearing the end of his life. The soundtrack is a masterpiece

Please help, my eyes won't stop tearing up when I listen to it. It's such a bitter sweet symphony, it fits William like a glove. Damn, I'm grateful I got to experience this game.

Some of the slower Vangelis songs can have similarish vibe imo, like "We're Going Home" from 2004 Alexander movie.
