Some helpful advice I wish I would have known if you are planning on cutting holes in your roof. I cut two holes, one for the maxair fan and one for a skylight. I cut one hole with a jigsaw, it took all day and I broke a lot of blades. I cut the other hole with bauer electric metal shears. It cuts through metal like butter. It took me about 15 minutes to make the hole. You need to drill a hole big enough to fit the blades in of the metal shear.

So much easier than my wall install. I can't wait to see what you do with the bulkhead. Most of the premade bulkheads take about 8" additional floor space. I have already installed ikea cabinets so I only have about 4" of space. I should have installed the bulkhead at the beginning instead of the end. Oh well, live and learn.

@ building with wood is fine and absolutely beautiful but once you do the research as you have and do the math it’s a no brainer, in my opinion, anyway. The material of your choice cut down on the weight drastically (I’m sure), the time of measuring and cutting lumber AND not to mention you saved a whopping $100!!! 😂😂Considering the larger size of your new van I can only imagine what the weight of it would have been. I know it’s not a fair comparison between Ruby and Ruby 2 (I don’t think you’ve named your new van yet) but I would be curious to see the weight between both.

I'm so tired of looking at the insulation. I had to move in before I was done & with all my stuff in there it's just so daunting all the stuff I'll have to move around to get the walls in :(. But I think it's going to happen this spring. Pro tip ... Finish your build before you move in!!!

There’s also marine vinyl for wrapping the exposed metal . Choice of solid colors or embossed animal skin print for a retro vibe ! Another hot tip. If you do remove the interior panels, do not use the tool and force it behind the fastener. Too much work. If you can get your fingers (with protection) behind the panels on each side of the fastener, just give it a yank. You should be able to save 90% of the fasteners. If not, work your tool behind the panel at the fastener and pry that way. I watched you and your sister struggle. My method saves a ton of time removing and replacing as the fasteners stay in the panel holes. Have fun!,
