Have you thought about using some chain and anchors Murphy bed style for your table?
@travelingjam45503 жыл бұрын
That is one of the ideas we’ve been considering! We have also been thinking about attaching blocks to the bottom of the table, so when it folds down it would rest on the shelf below it.

Add a block of wood underneath the table that sits across the top of the ledge.

saw another van life couple who have a similar set up and they put a slide out table connected to their counter top in front of the sitting area. it's on tracks and they just pull it out to be closer to them at their "couch" area. i think that would be good for yall!

For table legs - you may think of using magnets on both sides so the legs stay in place

Great video! Very entertaining and helpful. I'd like to know, how does that bed ratchet set-up work?

Please tell me you not regularly drinking/eating without washing your hands after using the toilet? And are you washing your hands in the kitchen sink? If you are that would be very cumbersome to have to disinfect your sink every time you use the toilet.

Table fix. Add a hinged block that unfolds under its own weight as you fold the table down, and rests on the unit below... legs be gone

try Redarc bcdc chargers for alternator charging!
@travelingjam45503 жыл бұрын
We’ve never heard of that one! We are trying out the Renogy dc to dc charger. Hopefully we don’t need to change it, but if we do we’ll have to check out the Redarc!

Explain me why american vanlifers ALWAYS use the MB van, which is expensive, unreliable and very hard to fix. Pliiiz explain! I don't get it.
@travelingjam45503 жыл бұрын
For us it came down to price and availability. We got the van cheaper than other options around us. Hindsight getting a van with more accessible parts would’ve been nice.

The little gas waterheater you have under the sink is not really meant for indoor use. Since there is nowhere for the exhaust gas to get out of the van ... it might be quite dangerous. Also it uses up the oxygen inside the van you’re supposed to be breathing in and if it runs out of oxygen it’ll start producing carbonmonoxide and you might die ... just so you know 😅 not trying to critique any of your work though 😊
@travelingjam45503 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We had read some information about that after we had installed it as well. Unfortunately, it was after we were hitting the road, so we have not fixed the problem as of now. We don’t use it often, and when we do we open the doors under the sink, as well as turn on our vent fans to circulate the air. We do plan to fix it though, we appreciate your concern! 😄

Finally, finally, finally some american vanlifer does NOT use the stupid fixed cross bench bed mode! Cheers.

put a block of wood under the back edge of your table when it drops down so the legs aren't needed. ask #vanlife for help troubleshooting your noisy water heater.
