One of JCVD's best fight scenes, and all because of Mickey Rourke, an actual fighter who is one of the greatest actors off all time. Mickey could easily have been one of the top action stars, easy..

as cheesy as this movie is, one thing I appreciate about the ending fight is the use of leg parries. don't see that too often, even in real martial arts training, because they take A LOT of practice to master. but it's a phenomenal tool to have

I don't know anything about martial arts but I am always fascinated by Van Damme when he seriously fights like here. Most of the times he kicks very reluctantly slow in his movies. But in this scene he really proves his mettle. Shows how fast he can be if he wants. Particularly his jumping spin kicks. As good as that of Scott Adkins.

Rourke is one of those actors that I put in the category of actors that even when he's in an awful movie he's usually the best part. It's not often that you'll see him slumping a performance. This movie is an example of that: it's an absolutely stupid movie and the character he's playing is a bland villain, but he really does sell it well. Really wish he was in more good movies.

@@kluneberg8952 I just rewatched the part and it's hard to tell who shot the boy. Honestly, I used to think the tiger clawed them through the cage. We see them by the cage, a bullet pierces her coat, then you see Quinn slide done briefly before the seen cuts to other people shooting as by this point there is a lot of chaos. I do have to retract my original comment of Stavros caring about children as he had no qualms about setting off a grenade in a nursery of babies.
