People who have this car won't do anything about it and the people who have never stolen may see this and realize how easy it is to break into a car and grab easy money. If this guy knew how easy it is to break into cars he should have reported this to the company or stay quiet about it. Now everyone knows and many will start trying this method

When I was a Police Officer in Southend, Essex in the 80's and 90's, people were often shutting their keys in their cars. We had a collection of found keys at the station that we would use to help out. With a Ford, you never needed to try too many before it opened.

The only way to improve your security is to first know your weak points. It's disconcerting to think that Ford hasn't taken any steps toward that end. i completely agree. ford hav been incredibly easy to steal for several decades now, yet they know and have done nothing about it. in the uk, for the past few years the ford fiesta ST has been the #1 stolen vehicle.. not because its a great car, but because once you know this about fords, you see how for thieves it's so fast and easy to get that bit of fun to thrash around and chuck away when they're done. i have an old flame for fords but i have long moved on from owning one because of their awful security.

There is a skeleton key doing the rounds on the internet that opens most Fords. Something to be aware of. Had my van broken into outside my house with a Policeman living next door who would regularly park his police car outside. No deterant. There are gangs of specialist van thieves that target just builders/tradesman's vans. Chances are the tools are getting shipped to eastern Europe. When my van was done, I spoke to my police neighbour who told me, off of the record, that the police haven't got the manpower do anything. If you have a van that contains tools, it is only a matter of time until they do yours. Dead bolt the van and if you can, use a van vault.

The upgrade has been free to our company (200 plus transits) and has been to other smaller firms I have been in contact with. I am informed this is not a well known fact and you would need to ask for the upgrade. We have also fitted mortice style dead locks and van vaults. Not sure about the modern cars but I saw quite a few get broken into up through the late 90's and early 2000's. A large screwdriver, hammer, and vice grips. Jam the screwdriver into the keyhole, smash the end of the screwdriver with the hammer. This drives the screwdriver into the locking mechanism and hard enough to drive the whole assembly free from the sheet metal door. Then just rotate the entire mechanism and pop the lock. Vice grips in case you need more leverage on the screwdriver to rotate it.

These days you can have a solid iron bar that you can place in front of the rear doors, they can unlock it, but there's no way of opening the doors. The solid iron bar mounts and locks onto the tow bar. The slide door on the side has something similar but that's only accesible from the inside

The best video I've ever seen was "safestyle gabba windows" and they turned that advert into a proper rave tune but SafeStyle put in a copyright claim the turds 🙁 in my efforts to find it I even found the bloke who made it and he said "nah mate I've lost the original video I might have the bits of footage somewhere but no chance could I throw it together and make the exact same video again" 😥 fuck SafeStyle 😣

I recently change a Transit Connect drivers door lock only to discover that its almost impossible to grab a pair of pliers and turn the lock back and forth. The lock barrel has a large built-in locking pin preventing this from happening. Also, watch this video very closely, when he claims the turn the lock with his pliers, it doesn't turn when he claims it does.

Other European brands that share body styles also have a issue on the rear handles all you need is a screwdriver and know where to pierce something which disables the central locking and some cases the alarm, had 4 vans done at services while we stopped for lunch ranging from a 08 to a 22 plate all done within 25 mins emptied ...
@zoesmith15365 жыл бұрын
WTF, if that is the case. Why haven't Ford improve the security of their vans. Come on Ford, you should know better and improve your locking system. Sorry for your lost of possession mate!

Yeah or at least super glue the cover on. If I had one, I would probably disconnect the lock rods from the key mechanism and just use the remote. I’d be screwed if the battery ever died though.
