Unbelievable I remember when balance came out. It blew me away. Eddie was still killing it. Sammy with those vocals and those screams. Wow. I sure do miss those days.

Agree. What a shame that this lineup didn't get to keep it going and make another 2-3 albums. Eddie is arguably the greatest guitarist off all time but he messed up a good thing here.

Such a frikken awesome song. Can't believe this is almost 28 years ago. There's a video on youtube of Eddie in 1985 working on the main riff of Amsterdam. Crazy to think this song could have been on "1984", but just wasn't ready.

I never thought Sammy-era VH could top 5150, but they did it with Balance. Amsterdam, Aftershock, Feelin, Seventh Seal, Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do, Can't Stop Loving You, Not Enough & Deja Vu - not many albums contain this many awesome songs.

As a lover of every single member of VH (even Gary), it was so painful to know that such talent was sitting at home instead of delighting us all. We didn't see the internal struggles (but even pre-internet, the rumor mill was working overtime). I wish the inter-personal relationships were better, but damn did you guys make some amazing music.

I don’t know how in the hell I have never seen this! But God, damn this is the one of the best performances I’ve seen them with Sammy. Of course, they’re all killer, but this is just amazing perfect sound perfect! Production on this is excellent, Eddy’s tone just killing it Alex Michael, beautiful rendition of this song. I love all VH albums, but my two favorites are Balance and Fair Warning. IIRC, both were cut when things were tough in the band or for Eddie. I think it gave him some more edge.
