It is so fun to watch peoples facial expressions as there brain tries to process it all . Eddie was the first at many new things and a true legend and KING of the hammer ons . I was lucky enough to catch Van Halen twice live in the 80,s and they were SO good ! Just awesome to see younger generations discover this man and his many talents .. RIP Eddie you will be missed Sir ! Great reaction !

Eddie was an absolute genius on guitar. Not to be forgotten is that he was the major songwriter for their music, and was the keyboardist for the group as well, so watch for him playing the keyboards in his videos. Eddie played piano for years as a child before he started playing drums, and his brother Alex began playing guitar. They quickly exchanged instruments and the results are legendary. Check this one out from the same concert for Eddie on the synth and a good view of the other members Michael Anthony on bass and vocals, Sammy Hagar vocals and guitar, and Alex Van Halen on drums, and the excitement they bring. Ok there are pieces of 8 different VH songs in this solo, it's precise and amazing and just plain out of control brilliance that will never be equaled or surpassed. VH has a deep well of pure magic. U won't find a weak effort, either early stuff or the later stuff. Ignore the split Van Halen fans, half only liking David Lee Roth as lead singer, the other half ordering Sammy Hagar as the lead singer. Just get lost in the musical sauce, and each drop of sauce will satisfy ur appetite for excellence

Eddie B. I have a few personal faves, from the Van Halen Live without a net concert, "Summer Nights", "Love walks in", "5150", "There's only one way to Rock" (the 5:38) version. And I believe on their next tour, a live performance of "Right now" the (6:49) version.. Vocals- Sammy Hagar Bass- Michael Anthony Drummer- Alex Van Halen Thee Edward Van Halen- guitar Ed and Alex are brothers..
@michaelshields77772 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, Eddie was totally wasted during this performance, and when he was asked about it later, he had no recollection of doing it. He still killed that guitar solo!! My first time seeing Eddie was on the 1988 Van Halen Monsters of Rock Tour, when they came to Spokane, WA. Five bands in one day, with Van Halen headlining.
