This whole album was them changing up their dynamic. This song is a great example of that. I highly recommend listening to the whole LP. The album reminded me of Led Zeppelin's third album where they also moved away from what the fans wanted. Van Halen has etched their place in rock n' roll history, no matter what their sound is from album to album. It also helps to have Eddie bringing the fire. Good reaction, guys.

Super underrated tune. Great vibe. Alex Van Halen is so underappreciated on the drums. Guys, you have to hit a lot more Van Halen. All 6 albums with Roth are fire. I love VH with David Lee. Too many great tunes to name but a really bluesy/cheeky one is Ice Cream man off the debut. So catchy. VH with Roth is a good time rock and roll party band plain and simple. Other fire songs with Roth: Beautiful Girls, Unchained, Mean Street, Dancing in the Street, D.O.A. and so on.

The song first appeared in a John Cusack movie from the 80s called “Better Off Dead” where a hamburger comes to life in claymation form, even playing a guitar. It was just an excuse for the Director to showcase his animation skills from CalArts, Disney’s prestigious art school where Tim Burton graduated from. The scene alone creeped the hell out of me when I was younger. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3XWfHqvqpV5b5osi=50UAXw1_w0SUr4Fg

Lol get the wax outta ur ears. DLR was all show and streams. Great front man. But the two sounds that make VH is Ed's guitar and Mike Anthony's supporting vocals. Dave has atbest an average voice. Sammy could actually hit the notes. And live as well. Dave's showmanship was far superior coz his live voice is mediocre, so his shows had to be amazing. I always loved VH from the 1st time I dropped a needle on Runnin with the Devil. But even Gary Cherone was better vocals than Dave.
