I think the hardest part of this solo is the fact that it doesn't make a lot of sense outside of the context of the other instruments. Super effective and legendary. RIP Eddie!

Yes! I taught it to him note-for-note at the Rainbow bar and grill in LA in late ‘83... he picked it up pretty quick!

It would really help those of us who play detuned to E Flat if you could share what the actual chords are behind the solo. I think they differ from the chug along (which you don't go into in either video). That way we can transpose for the one fret difference. You are by far the best at doing this, by the way. I like how you cater to those with a modicum of skill to begin with.

Really well done! However, the way you explain the tapping sequence is a little different than how you play it. On the B and G strings you show and say tap on 9 - 13 - 6, but when you demo it right after you play 9-13-9-6...check the video. Not sure what's the correct way...

Hi Carl. When I've got high gain etc to get the right sound I find it's really hard to get the tapping clean (ie nothing from the other strings). Is that just technique/practice or do I need to do something else?
