Sunday Afternoon in the Park is so unique and so original. As a VH fan, Ive loved this track since I first heard it and yet somehow it never got old. Maybe because of those reasons? Such a great job on this! I applaud your dedication on this cover!

Good Lord, mate! Been a fan of VH since their first album, and love this obscure track, especially when played on my modern car sound system with the bass turned up. You can literally feel the vibrations through your seat! I have always wondered how the sound was made, so I did a quick search on KZbin, and here you are.😄 I never knew, and to think those sweeps were made by the air pressure from Alex's drums! Incredible. I wish they had done more of this type of music. Thankyou for your efforts. Ya gotta love KZbin, eh?😅

@inasimplerhyme2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! It's recorded direct, and then I put some plugins on it in Pro Tools. And it's actually two keyboard parts. Check out the isolated keyboards vid to see both: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJjaf3pqoJqcmJY

Will you be doing When It's Love anytime? It's just the same sound as Dreams and Love Walks In, a piano midi'd to an Oberheim OB-8.

Actually, it's there's a bit more on that track. There's other keys mixed in, possibly including a Roland D-50 and/or Yamaha DX-7, so I'm not tackling that one quite yet.

Wouldn’t a Electro Harmonics POG come close to this , if using specifically guitar?
@inasimplerhyme Жыл бұрын
Not a guitar guy, so I have no idea. Maybe? Hopefully someone else can chime in.
@knightfall9394 Жыл бұрын
There was a guy online yrs ago who transcribed this for guitar, i cant recall his pedal set up but i do remember the low e string was tuned down a bit from standard tuning. As far as the pog goes im not entirely sure how that would sound, most of what ive heard guys do with it tends to be on higher kind of range sound rather than the low tones you hear here
@AllenGarberGuitarFun Жыл бұрын
Nope.😊
@Pnut-qd4em2 жыл бұрын
Hi , it sounds just like the recordings! on Sunday afternoon.. It looks like you are tapping notes where the word "SYNTHESIZER" is written on the Synth, is that a feature or is your hand obscuring you hitting notes on the keyboard?
@inasimplerhyme2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not a feature - more of a fluke. When they recorded the original song, those synth stabs were an accident. They were triggered by the sounds of Al's drums! Since they were recording the synth directly to tape, Ed could be right next to the drums while recording. The synth is pretty cheaply made, (the back is literally cardboard), so it's susceptible to things like sound pressure, or tapping, as in my video. So my tapping replicates the power of Al's drums.
@Pnut-qd4em2 жыл бұрын
@@inasimplerhyme ah i see, sounds like an unstable circuit design. I really like the sound of that synth , really raw and dark
@the_AtomicPunk2 ай бұрын
Wait, it wasn't on an OB-Xa?
