Van Hunt is one of what I call the "Archangels" ...Bilal, Prince, Raphael, D'Angelo, Stokley, Lenny, Van (7 in all). I saw him perform live @ Newby's in Memphis, Tenn. back in '05. It's amazing that 10 years in the game after recording 4 albums, a lot of people still don't really know Van Hunt.

@TheDucciano 1) NEVER said he sounded like Prince at all (That's actually where I agreed with you and people's quickness to label). 2) Never said that Prince was an influence musically (Bernie Mac's one of mine but I'm not going into comedy). 3) You don't have to sound like an artist for them to influence you because several hip hop artist have rock influence but rarely mixed the two genres 4) Hunt can play keyboard, so he probably can play classical music, just prefers what he does better.
