I am 72 and have been at this since 2010 . My husband was my travel mate And he died Jan 7 2021. Its took me this long to get the Rv ready for the road due to my grief. Our son is with me and new adventures are about to happen. Happy traveling.

Carol I just read a comment that was shared about a viewer meeting an 85 year old lady whobwas living the nomad life and loving it. Age doesn't have to stop you. Perhaps doing weekend or week-long trips, and seeing if you wanted to do more.

As a 65 year old mum and grandmother I agree with you. I did it to my mum as well. I came to realise that we do it out of love and because we want to protect those we love. Just as my kids told me to take a step back and let them make their paths and their mistakes, they have also had to take a step back to enable me to love and love my last quarter of life, and still make mistakes 🤣 my two oldest are reasonably ok with that, but my youngest, whom we call the “late lamb” in South Africa because he was born late in the mother’s season, is finding it hard to let go. But I also have the knowledge and assurance that, should I need help, it’s a phone call away.

Right now I’m at my daughter’s place, staying in my van outside, and can’t get back on the road till December due to cataract surgery. Carol, this story is so heartwarming and you've made another new friend. I am very happy for Cheryl. At 72 she deserves the happiness she shares with other van lifers. I am now experiencing a new happiness with living in my van and at 74 it's exhilarating to have the freedom I'm enjoying. I've always been a happy person but this lifestyle seems to suit me the best. Health wise it appears Cheryl and I have had our share of "down time" due to health reasons. With a history of multiple health issues and then contracting Covid enroute from Virginia to California I ended up being admitted to a VA hospital in Sacramento. It's been several weeks but a strong will to survive pulled me through. I'm enjoying my travels with a renewed fervor throughout Southern California. My next venture will take me into New Mexico to live for the winter. Another awesome interview and I wish Cheryl the best in her new life.

Oh my words Alexander. What a frightening ordeal for you. I am so glad to hear that you pulled thru and are back to the life you love on the road. If I might offer a suggestion, which of course includes checking with your doctor first. Beginning in February 2020 I put my daugjter and myself on a regiment of 50,000 units weekly of vitamin D, a daily zinc tablet and 1000 units of vitamin C to strengthen our immune systems, particularly our lungs based on volumes of research on vitamin D. This has served us very well. You might want to consider running this protocol by your doctor. I pray for your continued healing and hope you have a fabulous winter in New Mexico.

We don't live forever so what have we got to lose? Am 67 and fulltime nomad in my same truck n 5th wheel trailer along with my kitties, doggies and cockatiel for 14 years; have a camping friend, 77, who is a nomad in her same minivan now for 14 years with her doggies. Like this lady said if you want to you can do it. You just have to make the decision and be determined to get it done.

It's such a wonderful blessing seeing these older women getting out & living THEIR life, not kids or the life that kids prefer U live, or even what society has dictated what your life should be like at that age! I'm seeing more so women than men doing this! i.e.,men let go the rein & stop being drugged around, get out & enjoy YOUR OWN life, I intend too!
