Electric blanket is also a good way to keep warm sleeping in snow area...

The tall skinny trees are poplars, and not native to Australia. Buy a hot water bottle and fill it with your kettle at night. Doesn't have to be full. Wrap it in something and keep it in your sleeping bag. A second hot water bottle at your feet would be ideal. You need a -5C sleeping bag for the snow. Sleeping bag was wet from condensation. It was warmer than the cold air that hit it and the moisture condensed on it. Really good to get teh leggings (Tights??) because you needed more layers under your clothing. Once a year Aldi sells a whole heap of snow clothing and other gear, and it's extremely cheap. Maybe look out for that sale and buy a good jacket and even snow pants so that the next time you travel to the snow you are toasty warm. I also wonder if you could plug in an electric throw over blanket for a short time to initially get warm? I don't know how much poser they use but I imagine it wouldn't be that much. That area was truly beautiful in a stark way, but still lovely.

Most folk use Diesel heaters for van camping in the cold these days. They are very cost efficient and dont drain your battery much.

Which campground were you at, was it The Diggings ? We swam in that river after mountain biking on a 35degC day. Doesnt look as inviting in the winter lol.
