A "stuga" is a smaller residential building usually located in the countryside and intended for a family. The word "stuga" originally refers to the heated living room, which was also a kitchen. In texts on folk culture and in older rural language, the word still has this meaning

Stuga - Cottage. Possibly a guest cottage. A small house, in Sweden often wood. Painted red with white corners and trim.

Cool, you are very near to where I am living, I am living in the city Kristinehamn. We have an amazing archipelago with restaurants and café's, many of them is closed for the season. Anyway nice that you was so near 🙂👍

It's really nice around there! We stayed with such lovely people. It's a lot busier than in Jamptland though!

@@livingthelifeportugal Yeah, more dense with people even if it is pretty rural, I like it here close to big cities and mid cities and nature everywhere 🙂

@roxpace yeah it's busy for Sweden but vs Germany, UK, Belgium, Netherlands it's like a ghost town! We love all of Sweden though... We hope to come back for a winter! ❄️🇸🇪

@@livingthelifeportugal I get your point and agree, for me it is the lagom if you know that word, the exact right speed of life. Hope you come back and see Sweden during winter, around here its usually best late December or January, before that it can be rainy or snow, in north its much more cold and stable winter weather 🙂

Woao! Well done Lawri ! You much more disciplined bidder mate than I ever been ,you picked 1 item n stuck to it and won. I (when I was allowed to go Auctions) couldn't control my finger , always came home with car/van full of items (she believes to be junk😂). So for last 2 years I am banned to go to Auctions or boot sales 😂

Stuga is a cottage. A place where you normally dont live full time and its often old and woodie.
@annicaesplund66132 ай бұрын
Well, someone lived there full time once upon a time. Our cottage was built 1894.

Auctions are great. What you went to was probably organized by a local sports club which gets all the proceeds, so you did well either way.

It was SO awesome! We were so impressed by how it was organised and all the things for sale! ❤️🇸🇪

My Swedish is a little rusty, but I guess stuga is a hollidayhouse/lesiurehouse/sommerhouse and can off course be used as guest house or rented it out.

Stuga=cottage/cabin/small country house. Sommarstuga = summer "dito" Gäststuga = guest house

Usually an old cottage where someone actually lived full time. There's a difference between cabin, croft, cottage and house, the size is one and the location.
