Very nice update of this classic. I had a '68 Westfalia, identical (including the exterior paint scheme!). One thing you might consider: I moved the spare to the front of the vehicle utilizing Unistrut to make a mount attached to the bumper. Then I used some of the foam and upholstery from that same front seat you've also removed to fill in the gap by the matress. I made a hinged plywood lid to cover the hole in the floor to create a small storage space. This made for much more comfortable sleep! Happy travels to you!

Loved your video and bus! I had three in America back in the 1970’s traveling the country and camping in the great outdoors, so it really brings back memories. My creativity was pretty non existent compared to yours, but the memories of travels in my buses will last forever. Thank you for sharing your beautiful van with us. I happened upon your video two years after you first published it, so you probably already know this, but you could mount your spare tire on the front of your van to make your bed area larger. When I was growing up, my family used a van quite a bit like this one for camping every summer and then my father drove it back and forth to work the rest of the time, and that is where we kept our spare tire.

Was für ein schöner Bulli T2. Wir hatten vor ca. 25 Jahren einen T1 und haben ihn wieder verkauft, als wir dachten, wir könnten uns den Sprit zukünftig nicht mehr leisten. Verbleit wurde abgeschafft und es hieß, man müsse Additive zusetzen. Mein Mann war Student und ich gerade erst im Job. Hätten wir ihn mal untergestellt. Damals waren T1 nicht teuer. Heute wäre unsere "Rosinante" sicher ein kleines Vermögen wert. Aber wir können sagen, wir hatten ein paar Jahre lang diesen wunderschönen Kultbulli. Mittlerweile gefällt uns auch der T2 sehr gut. Habt viel Freude mit Daisy

Fit some type of Warm air heating to the van. Fumes / Exhaust outside. Diesel or Gas Heater. Outside & under the van floor. Gas or Flame Heating Creates Huge Damp / Moisture. warm Air is Dry Heat. Mount the Heater Externally Blowing Warm Air into the Van, With Zero Fumes / C/ Mox etc.

I absolutely loved your video. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories for me. I owned the exact year Westphalia. I drove all over the place with it. The most difficult time I had with it was when touring around the Columbia Ice Fields. Because the motor had little HP, it was very slow going up mountain roads. So much so, there were long lines of traffic behind me. So I got a bumper sticker, “Don’t Honk, I’m Pedaling as Fast as I Can.” I named my van, “Rolls-Kenardly.” It would roll down one hill and Kenardly get up the next. I’m so envious of you two. I just wish I had my Westphalia back again. It was relatively new when I purchased it. Safe journeys to you.

Daisy is the same age as me! I also prefer the original 70's wooden finish because I like things authentic, but not authentic dusty beds, lol. You did a good job. I have an American Akita and can't imagine what it is like in there when Felix blows his coat. We are just coming to a close with the latest moult where he seems to have shed enough fur for 3 Akitas.
