One thing I have always admired about your Norwegian travels is you go to nature and there are no bugs flying around and swarming you! Unlike the forests and jungles elsewhere. Is it because of the weather in Norway? Or do the bugs just don't exist there?
@SimonBraeck3 жыл бұрын
Certain areas are definitely exposed to bugs, especially more inland around lakes. This was shot in September and the nice thing about the Norwegian fall season is that there are no bugs whatsoever, but you still have nice days with decent temperatures

Hey Simon, really love your videos and it helps me a lot to plan my 4 week Norway trip this summer. 🙌 I have one question for you: which settings do you use to film all this. I've never seen a nd filter on your lens🤔 do you shoot your videos in aperture priority? Thanks a lot and I'm so excited about your new adventures. 😊
@SimonBraeck8 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks😊 That’s right, I don’t bother with ND-filters. I toggle between a few custom modes, always in shutter priority. 1/50th for regular 25 fps and 1/200th for 100 fps. If you have a lens with a range to F22 it’s rarely a problem with over exposure, and if its too bright for 25 fps, I simply switch to 50 or 100fps🤓 Enjoy summer in Norway!

@@SimonBraeck takk! Vi kom et godt stykke oppover før bilen begynte å spinne. Ingen mulighet for å snu, så vi måtte rygge tilbake . De første svingene gikk greit, men etterhvert så kom campingvogna ut i grøfta. Happy new year!😊 I wish you the same. Norris is acting like a more reliable vehicle now, haven't had any issues, but we have a few minor troubles we need to address before the upcoming season. One of them being the clutch slave cylinder. Regarding the kuksa, the prices vary but ours were around 600kr each, which is on the pricey side, but you pay for the (almost) everlasting quality.

Thank you for yet another stunning video! I was wondering how you keep your van warm & cozy? Do you have a heater inside? I just discovered your channel and have been watching a bunch of your videos but haven’t heard you mentioning it. My boyfriend and I are planning on spending the spring and summer wildcamping in Norway with our van but are not sure whether we need to buy a heater or if sweaters and blankets will suffice haha. Thank you and keep up the good work!
@SimonBraeck3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it😊 We did install a diesel heater and we have loved it ever since. It is reliable, requires little power and diesel and it heats the van up in no time. It can be frustrating to keep things dry if you live out of a van while the rain keeps pouring down. If you had built a new van this would be added really early, now we can't live without it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHrUp61tbdakidU - about 4 minutes out we show how it ended up looking with the heater in place. Bring warm clothes and a warm blanket too, both for snuggles and for the extra bit of warmth!
