Thanks for this, Marty. About 1990 I was lounging about in my garden in Leamlara, East Cork, Ireland when I heard these chords borne on the wind from a music festival at the GAA (don't go there) pitch in Lisgoold, the next townland. The artist opening the gig was a mighty lounge musician called PARDRAIG PARKER, one of the nicest blokes to inhabit the planet. I understand he has had a lot of health problems recently and I'm sure there are lots of Marty fans who will join me in hoping he has had a complete recovery.

good lesson. thanks. I like the way you break it down , to give a few different options.....not all of us have fingers that can dance across the fretboard like spiders legs .....you have a great rhythm groove here also , that's one of the trickiest things on this song .....

Used different structured chords chords, but felt chords just lacked. My chord was Corte t but incorrect because of position on neck. Thanks for correcting me in not just one song but this had helped with three songs so far. From a very old 70s Beatles tune to a recent interstate highway tune. Now I finally got a better jazz feel but still tackling the rock scene. It is diligently wise to cross many junders or should say styles. Greatest to you Marty.

Hi Maty, great job sir! I'd love to learn the acoustic open E tuning part of Elton John's Norma Jean. Someone told me its the exact same song as the one on the Yellow Brick Road CD but with all the other instruments taken out other than vocals, and harmonies. Marty, Nicely done for all levels of playing. But for a beginner, possibly could you teach the basic fingerings of; Am, Bm, Cmj7, Dm, E7 who may not know those inversions? Also, could you sing a bit of the lyric to accentuate the rhythm pattern?

A very good lesson. A couple of notes. First, the Cmaj7, something in it doesn’t quite sound right. One note I think. Could it be a dom 7 ?? Second, in the chorus, the second and fourth Dmin7, it’s a different chord, not sure which and I’ll try to figure what they are and post it for you. Good work!!
