Sieve or strainer...same thing. Usually made with mesh (plastic or metal). Tiny openings. Colander = usually one piece (plastic or metal or ceramic) with holes drilled/stamped out of it. For vanlife needs, the sieve/strainer would be all you need. Tho have seen collapsible colanders. Probably wouldn't use very often.

Hardly Know Fact: All detergents work by softening the water and separating dirt form objects and holding that dirt in suspension until removed. The process uses an electrical charge like a magnet. Dish-wash type detergents ( foaming Ones) use the opposite electrical charge to laundry detergents ( Suds Ones). The two detergents cancel each other out if mixed. So - you cannot put a bit of dishwash detergent in with the laundry detergent and nor can you put a block of hand soap in with dishwash liquid...

For simpler clothing storage, suggest using the Ranger roll for at least your t-shirts. The roll is neat, doesn't unroll and simplifies storage. There are instructional videos on KZbin on Ranger rolls for all your clothing.

What !!! Didn’t even know that existed. Checking it out right now. 😮 Thanks for sharing.

For cloths we use packing cubes. you can get different sizes on Amazon or in many big box stores.The medium and small sizes do the best. We pack the cubes and label the cube so we know what has what piece of clothing we are looking for. Also you can get different colors for his and hers. They pack tight and if we have to travel on public transport they pack easily in to a travel bag.
@vanlifesagas4 жыл бұрын
Is it pretty much the same they use in hiking backpacks?

Ebags.com. Packing cubes. Many color choices. Washable. Excellent quality. Might help with the clothing cupboards, vs. Baskets.

Marie, just a suggestion... You can make your own dry shampoo for cheap as hell and it's environmentally friendly too! I use arrowroot powder and add some cacao powder to darken it a bit. Added bonus: your shower smells like hot chocolate when you wash your hair lol. Love you guys!!!
@vanlifesagas4 жыл бұрын
Nooo way. Where do you get that arrowroot powder? Must try that!
@@vanlifesagas The link suggested above is the one I have from Amazon but you can also find it at any health store. You can put it in an empty spice jar so you can basically 'sprinkle it' on your hair. Let me know how you like it!
