Matt takes us for a tour of his 1995 ford E350 ford Econoline van. He calls it "The Gambler" because it's a gamble as to what's gonna happen when you get behind the wheel of this thing.
The van is setup for construction and constantly has wight in the back from tools, contractor equipment, scrap metal and building materials.
For some reason this van sound live a real muscle car! Listen to that 351 V8 exhaust note at full throttle!

Your van is better than my dads. His is a 1996 ford e250 with the 4.9 l6, it used to be a DHL van and it did not come with A/C, but the heat is toasty hot

That 4.9 I6 is a beast! Mine is a 95, just recently pulled a 28 foot trailer while loaded down with about a thousand lbs in the cargo bay. A bit slower than usual but still pulls no problem. More than a couple times I have loaded the rear full of OSB and also had lumber on my rack.... Easily pulls an extra ton or so of weight.

For 800 That's quite alot for a beyond rusted out van with an unreliable 5.4, But on the bright side it has the extended wheel base for more cargo space.

You should consider adding a steel plate inside the rear barn door, People can remove the plate, Cut off a hole in the plastic shell that holds the plate, Pull a lock linkage, And steal your stuff. (Video about it kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqPQYYKrrKl_j7c)

I have a 1999 e350 xlt superduty I bought for 3GS I replaced Tranny drive shaft and differential it runs fantastic now I added rims sounds system led lights I wanna get ready to add a small turbo camshaft injectors I just don’t know squat crud about it but I wanna fast nice work van

Holy shit, there is so much rust at the back of this thing... Ofcourse not as much as our old Ford Transit had, the back of the rear fender was basiclly gone! And the latest Ford transit we had thats engine blew up, it was already 6 years ago, its back right door's bottom rusted out aswell, so yeah... Old Ford transit's Are one helluwa rustbuckets

Congratulations on the new van! You’ll get used to the van in time. Soon it will be as easy to drive as your old Chevy. Some advice would be to practice parking within the lines at an empty parking lot. This will help you learn the dimensions. Enjoy!

this is a good video cuz it has a plot line and its persoan and interesting . can you tell me is this the feared triton engine the one that has the oil not getting through issue. i had a van that i think blew the oil pump yes it was a ford econoline. Im trying to erase my fear of ford vans. van you do a video where you open hood take video of engine and which one it is and how often you change oil wat your mechanics think and any issues you have with the oil or noises. also your thoughts of the triton engine vs the 4.9 engine. The big 6.

Honestly it's hard to go wrong with any Ford van. This engine, the 5.8 has been trouble free. I do keep up with regular maintenance, as you should with any vehicle. I also have a 4.6 van with 250K on it. It did spit out a spark plug at 220K but I fixed it and now it runs like new. Hope this helps.
