We absolutely could not go without the Rover Vans setup on the back. It has made it much more organized and we are looking forward to buying the bike mounts and 1up trays from Rover to add our bikes too.

I'm buying this because it runs on gas, has an induction, has a cassette, had no black tank, and had a special Lithium system where you don't have to plug into anything. And the tow capacity of 6,900 lbs. I also chose terrain tires. Better than Gretch, better than Pleasureway, better than a Roadtrek. Also NOOVO-LITE has a water filter system. That's why I will but this. No diesel nope. Cindy 👋

I appreciate this video so much. I've been debating (stressing) over spending the money on this Class B. Almost the exact options. Need those tires with the spare. I love that you guys made this video with all your stuff inside. I feel this is an "honest" look at the van. Not the staged, sterile clean video. People forget how much stuff you have when you go cross country or wherever! Would've like to have a different color interior and I'm worried about RAM reliability over time. How is the shifting with the new 9 speed? Is it a little sloppy or sluggish?
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words and watching! It is a night and day difference with the new 9 speed transmission. Shifts much better and has much more power. Overall a drastic improvement from the previous promaster chassis. All three, the sprinter, transit, and promaster, can have issues, but after owning all three we’d say the promaster and transit are the most reliable, most affordable to work on if needed, and the easiest to access service. The previous promaster transmission had a small percentage that failed, but with the improvements I don’t think many will or have been reported. For reliability alone we would choose the promaster as our first choice.

@bfdee16032 ай бұрын
I see a lot of promasters needing a new transmission before 100k miles....thats why i a leaning towards a transit. Definitely not getting a mercedes..
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
@bfdee1603 that was the old chassis with the old transmission. The new chassis with the 9 speed is too new to tell, but you can noticeably feel the difference and not many issues have been reported in the groups on the 23s and up. Also social media highlights only the worst because most people only go to social media looking for answers. If you spend time in transit groups you will see people reporting the turbo failing around 70-80k on the ecoboost engine. But that’s just a small percentage truly. Social media magnifies issues.

hey..awesome van...thanks for doing video I'm justcurious if yall experience any issues with mice in this van and if so how do u deal with it...besides having 2 cats
@NealBrittАй бұрын
Hey 👋 Thanks for the kind words and great question! We have been very fortunate to never have any mice issues over all the years we have been on the road in any of our vans. The two cats are definitely a nice deterrent for sure. We have had one incident when a pack rat tried to make a nest overnight on our engine in our last van, but did not chew any wires or come in the van luckily. When camping in the desert that is something we have been fortunate to avoid, but something we will be taking more serious in the future with use of portable solar powered motion lights to put on the ground beneath the van to hopefully deter them. We feel very lucky to have never had any mice issues, just the one pack rat incident. The cats are probably why, but we do not sit in one spot for long. Always on the move. So that could contribute to our success in that aspect too.

Sorry if I missed it in your vid…is it a 170 or 159 length? What is the clearance? That is my issue in my 2500 159. Would love to hear more about the power and how you manage it in snow, dirt/rocky roads, etc.
@NealBritt16 күн бұрын
Hey 👋 it is the Ram Promaster 3500 159 extended wheelbase. The longest promaster chassis at 21ft long (20’11”). I have not measured the clearance underneath, but that is something I certainly wish I had more of for peace of mind. We put a 3 inch lift on our previous Promaster van. We have a video coming out soon putting it down some good snow and ice covered forest roads. I wish we recorded more the second day after freezing temps overnight and snow, but it did well. We did have a software issue (now fixed) I did not know about effecting the traction control and power to the front wheels. The power is light years ahead of the previous generation promaster, that was lacking, to say the least. It has sufficient power and going up mountain passes you can accelerate fairly quickly if needed, which was impressive to me. Handles mountains with ease. In snow or mud you definitely want a good set of Peak Rated all terrains. We have falken wildpeak AT4’s and it makes a world of difference. It’s a front wheel drive so it overall does well in all conditions. But it’s a heavy camper van, so we are just more aware and cautious when we are bombing it down forest roads and trails is all.
@MannyWC16 күн бұрын
@ Thank you for the feedback! Dang, to get that extended in and out of ‘nature’ it must be more powerful. I do put my van into places it doesn’t belong. Only needed recovery 2x:)) Yes if you can expand on the skills of the van when making vids, that would help in determining an upgrade. Maybe elaborate if you would consider an AWD or other 4x4 set up? I have the TOYO open country all terrain tires which have been great so far. I just want more torque and clearance. When you said you added a 3 in lift, did the axles actually achieve that lift or just the body? If yes to the axles, how did you achieve that and are you gonna do the same on this rig?

How do you like Noovo's choice of retractable door on the wet bath? How is the door secured to close it if it is self-retracting? I thought I saw Nautilus doors on their web site. I'm glad Noovo avoided plastic curtains in their design, and we're definitely avoiding brands installing those flimsy clingy curtains.

Very nice! Would love to see your pro/con list on this van compared to your Ekko. Your experience.
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
We will have a video eventually, but I can say now there is no comparison. The Ekko is built with poor quality materials and components. We spent a lot of money redoing many issues in the Ekko. The overall idea and layout of the Ekko is great, but Winnebago just does not care about quality control anymore. All about the bottom dollar and it really shows. We really liked the garage space of the Ekko, the overall layout, and we love the transit chassis, but that is really where the list stops.
@vicdee3672 ай бұрын
@@NealBritt I appreciate the honest opinion. We have a 2024 Airstream Rangeline and like it a lot. Good quality. We were thinking of the Sprekko due to size, garage, all wheel drive and twin beds. I love the Rangeline (Promaster) ease of use.
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
You’re welcome. We just cannot recommend them, or any Winnebago product, in good conscience now. Almost every owner is having issue after issue with lack of quality control and major design flaws (recall after recall for major issues). Even for us, paying a better price than others because of when we purchased, it’s been a big financial burden to say the least.

What is the ceramic tint? Did I hear that correctly? Cindy
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
It is a type of window tint. Ceramic tint keeps out not only UV rays, but heat. Can reduce the temperature by 10 degrees plus if you install it on the windshield and two side cab windows. We did 35% on the driver and passenger window. Then on the front window 80% (which is no tint really for legal reasons since tint isn’t allowed on full windshields).

They do have bump outs in the bed area that give another 4-5 inches total, but an exterior bump out like a flare space on the driver side would be nice for sure 👍🏼

Your Travato had 52V DC Lithium system this one is 12v. But you said this can go for 3 days due to the Solar panels. If both lithium options were available on your van, which would you choose?
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
Yeah 👍🏼 Great question. I’d take a 48v (or 52v system like the Volta system) over 12v because of the recharge times being much faster, but it depends on the quality of all electrical components and what they are paired with. For example, if it was a 48v system paired with one of the new 48v AC’s I’d have to choose that. But as it stands the Volta system with a 120v AC vs the 12v lithionics battery with victron components and a 12v AC, I choose the 12v system. Also, that is three days parked in place with full sun and running AC before we’d have to drive and recharge. If I did the same with the Volta system (3 cell system, not the 4 cell Volta) on the travato we would get max 7 or so hours of AC use (5 in extreme heat) before having to recharge the batteries. I am all about efficiency and overall use/run time.

Seems a bit cramped in comparison to our Travato GL. Fridge is way too small and I see no reason to be carrying a bucket of poop around in this day and age. The bed is no doubt larger for those who might need it and the new transmission is super, but the tradeoffs are just not there to make a switch for us. Love you guys though! Oh, moved to FL from TN. Can’t recommend Memphis as a stop on the traveling nurse tour. But if you’re in the Iona area, please look us up!
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
Hey Dave 👋 it’s all what works for you for sure. I wouldn’t even consider trading for a new van unless we hated our layout, was falling apart, etc 😂 For us personally everything is better besides fridge size, but we shop every few days in general for fresh ingredients. For us we prefer cassette toilets now. Thetford flush is identical to what you have in your GL inside wise. Just a little different on the outside 😆 The possibilities for dumping is what makes it our favorite. Every single event and van gathering we go to people are worried about their black tank, but we can simply roll our cassette over to the porta potties and dump it. That is why we really like it. Everything is personal preference though and style of camping. Thanks for watching as always and we will reach out when going through the area. We still have some locations to check out on the bucket list in the area! Congrats on the move!

@NealBrittАй бұрын
No lift, just sumo springs on the front and back. Sumo springs can give you a 1/2-1inch lift in our experience.
@stephenstringer36892 ай бұрын
Someone always has to ask about the cassette vs black tank, lol. Do you think they may add an option for a black tank or a waterless type of toilet? I would think it would be irritating to have to find some place to empty every 2-3 days or so if you don't stay in campgrounds.
@NealBritt2 ай бұрын
Great question and we have been asked that a lot. 😂 We actually love the cassette toilet and find it the best/easiest option. You can always find a place to dump it once you are looking. Of course standard rv dumps, but we mostly dump in pit/ vault toilets at trailheads, etc, city and county park toilets, porta potties, rest area toilets, and regular household toilets in a pinch. They offer the Laveo dry flush as an option now. They have no plans of offering a black tank as they just are not as flexible to use or off grid friendly. Usually on public lands you’ll be fairly close to a pit/ vault toilet. Brittany and I dump every 3 days when using the cassette toilet only. If we are mixing using public toilets we usually get 4-6 days of use.

We truly have no idea since we do not like ko2’s / ko3’s as much as falken wildpeaks, so we did out tires ourselves. We didn’t even look at what they offered tire wise once we heard it was ko2’s. They are decent tires, we just think the wildpeaks are much better after having both on multiple vans and trucks. We also had our rover vans accessories added after purchase, but the pricing is the same on those whether you get them from Noovo during the purchase or afterwards from rover.
