This Devlog showcases some abilities and spells that are available to Green Wizard inside of Vana'Gear. Everything shown at the moment is EARLY EARLY develpment footage. Also, next month will be my one year anniversary of development and I hope to show off my first couple of enemies.
I'll be applying for an Epic Megagrant next month so I can budget build a server to locally host the server and hopefully start handing out some early alpha clients to backers.

Yeah! I don't have any music picked out yet for any of the zones yet. 🤔I have a prototype map with some of the zone names and how they connect to their neighboring nations over on my patreon page you could use for inspiration. level up effect reminds me of ragnarok online :) loved this devblog - really starting to look like a game! the term 'mmo' is pretty different than it used to traditionally mean, especially with indie 'mmos' on the scene. What do you imagine would be the minimum required population for the game to function as you're designing towards? Hope that question even makes sense lol cheers!

Nice! I played a lot of Ragnarok M on my phone during work🙃 🤔 well I'm investing in a server for my home so I can maintain the game indefinitely regardless of population. I'll expand if needed but population requirement to keep the server up is zero lol if that's what you were asking

@@woodenbarrelgames Love a good home server! My question was more refering to say..what is the number of active players you would imagine the game would require to function? Say..a game with WvW like guild wars 2, warhammer, daoc, etc. requires a lot of active players for that design intent to work. Or classic wow with 40 man raids - need at least 40 people for that content to be viable (theoretically anyway lol) FFXI theoretically designed for 6-18 players bare minimum, FFXIV 24 players, etc..and obviously more players above that add to the experience/health of the game, economy, competition, etc. I suppose I was just curious if this stuff has been considered so far..just from a design curiosity standpoint :)

Oooooo! 6 players is the sweet spot I'm going for 🙃 there will be ways for people to duo/trio content but I want endgame to be tailored to groups.

The level up effect looks a bit out of place with how arcadey it looks, though I can't really tell the exactly what feel the game is looking for to be sure. The information on when you hover over the skills is way too cluttered showing a gearset thing that seems like it doesn't need to be shown currently.

🤔I'll test out hiding the gearset bound to the spell/ability/item behind an extra menu and yea the level up effect is arcadey 🙃
