Thanks for this. Super helpful! I did mine on the van and used a turnbuckle to slowly pull the link onto the swaybar after trying in vain to hammer it on a springy sway bar end. The turnbuckle kept steady pressure on it and when it was 2/3rd of the way, select hammer blows and tightening the buckle worked nicely. Thanks again!

This is a great method, worked a treat, thank you for posting it. Only things I did differently was that I didn't use any heat, and I smeared a little red rubber grease inside the drop link and inside the bush. But this method works very well, thanks again.

Great help to me !!! Many thanks from the UK. You turned a day job into a half hours's work. I managed both sides with the bar off 2cnd time each side using cycle tyre levers (steel) and a wooden mallet.

Thank you very much ! Your clear demonstration gave me the courage to attempt this installation myself and it worked exactly like you showed it. I'm glad I removed it from the vanagon and put it in a vise. Good job !

Having bought the White LIne bushings from T3, I have a couple of things to add to the comments. First, using the vise technique, I was finally forced to chamfer the stock end link before I could get success with that part. Since the White Line bushings must be much harder or more inflexible than others, heating is a must-do when working the bush over the end of the bar. To push the assembly onto the bar, I tightened the bar into my vice so the knob was sticking out of the right side. This allowed me to use a clamp between the left side of the vise and a plate over the edge of the end link. Once the clamp was in place, it was easy enough to control it from going off center by moving the plate ( mine was 2"x10"x 1/8") to keep it true. This got the link on far enough to use the hammer. I also used a tiny squirt of wd40 to help ease things on. Keep your cool and don't give up. The 2nd side was a bit easier, since I learned a bit on the 1st side. Good Luck!

Thanks for this outstanding video. I used a modified version, bar-off the van. 1) Used a seal installer (threaded rod and washer) in a vise to install bushing slightly into link. 2) Used a busing-diameter 1/2" drive socket with 8" extension to press bushing onto bar. 3) Used a 45 oz Estwing deadblow to drive link and bushing on. Mine went on with one blow.

Any tips for compressing and installing the lower pair of end link Bushings? Could t seem to do it compressing them with a jack.
