Axe is the way to go man thank u!!!! Make sure the axe is frosted, ull notice that ull need to throw the axe through him, so make sure the axe is hitting 2 times so it knocks him back, the way there and way back.

@@LucDHayward when u hit him initially with the throw hit him in the neck area, cuz the return throw will hit him somewhere on the back of the wings, cause the dragon to almost stumble or stagger, which shoves him off the tower slowly directly in front of u

Bruh, you saved me, I was tryna talk to the dude and I thought he was glitched out, then I realized the dragon I lost to and saved the night before wasn't doing the boss battle he once did So i killed his homies and went back to him, still didn't wanna fight Thank you for letting my continue the completionist journey 😁

No problem at all! Great to hear you managed to defeat them all. One of the other dragons glitched for me as well so I had to restart checkpoint to fix that one. Those side missions were a total mess. Weird considering the rest of the game is basically flawless.

me, i spent hours trying the stupid method in other videos and couldn't get it to work, nearly restarted before i figured i better check every video for any other method, found this and got it on my first try. it was weird for me though, he never froze, he just kept falling to the ground and attacking just like he does in the actual boss fight, then after i hit him with a few runic attacks he flew back up there. after the 3rd time he attacked he went down to finish with no r3 indicator but i ran up and hit r3 anyhow and got the finishing animation and all the loot. i'm playing on give me god of war mode and already did a ton of optional stuff, so this video saved me at least 30 hours including all the deaths and retries.

thank you, you saved me so much work if i had to restart. i'm playing on give me god of war and beat a few optional bosses that took me hours each to finally beat, those bosses at the gravestones that are similar to valkyries in the first game. i tried the other stupid method in every other video and couldn't get it to work, this worked first try. although for me he kept attacking and i basically killed him just like i would in the legit boss fight, r3 finishing animation too.

Aw I'm glad this method worked for you! Yeah he either flies away or attacks when he touches the ground. Not sure if there's a condition that has to be met for him to attack. Good luck with the rest of the game! :)

@@jedipadwan20 Is the music playing when you fight becuase otherwise he doesnt seem to take damage. Also, are you using a fully frosted axe yeah? You can also try using hex arrows to boost his status buildup. Another person in the comments also mentioned ensuring you hit with return strikes.

I'm not sure why this is. If you've changed realms etc and there's no sign of him at the western Plains or his den and it says you've completed it I wouldn't worry? You should find his drops in Brocks shop box after a realm change.

@@LucDHayward I had a few : invisible enemies that can deal damage, the dragon won't fight me, the music on that level doesn't stop looping once it starts and Atreus clipped out of the map in that location as well. It's very buggy for some reason. Had to skip the area

My dragon keeps flying away and not "glitching" out while I'm attacking him on the Piller. Any suggestions for that?

So just make sure you're doing the Frost Awaken throw. Hold triangle and then R1 throw. Try also using Hex arrows to boost the frost damage maybe? If still no joy I'd suggest restarting checkpoint as that seems to alter the behaviour of the bug each time. Other than that I really don't know what else to suggest. It does seem very different for each player.

Oh and make sure the music is playing. Without the music the Dragon either doesn't show or doesn't seem to take damage.

I think so? If you can't reach the dropped items you should be able to pick up the loot from Brock/Sindri's chest after you change realms.

You should be able to climb up the wall after the fight and collect the loot but if it does drop somewhere stupid then yes it appears in Sindri/Brocks blue chest. You need to change realms before it will appear in the chest though.

Hey Marius. Sorry I don't really know. This was over a year ago now so my recollection of the bug/area is pretty limited. This fix was purely to workaround the dragon encounter bug. If your problem doesn't directly involve the dragon it might not even be related?
