Hello queen! I just wanted to say first, thank you for your efforts and assistance to everyone! I'm a male who suffers from alopecia, and have just started wearing a wig, I'm a musician (in my profile photo from a year ago, I was down to my last hair!) so, stage presence is essential. Ladies such as you, give folks like me the knowledge to step out, and get up on stage with confidence! You're a beauty, with, or without "HAIR", and that beauty comes, not from what's going on on top of the head, but from the kind of quality, helpful human being that you are! TY again, and God blesses you for being so wonderful!

Just wanted to warn about the silicon wig grip, be careful to get the right size! I do a lot of long days with wigs but by the end of the day the wig cap comes off and slides around. I got the silicone one to try and thought my head size was a medium but apparently if you wear it all day it can actually cause a blister when on bare skin! It does miracles and keeps the wig put no matter what but also can be painful if worn for more than 3 hours, beware!

1. The cheapest band you can make is the stretch bandage you can dye your skin colour with fabric dye. 2.. apply tupe, double sided tape specially made for men’s troupe, tape several pieces around the perimeter on your head where you will place your headband. 3. Tighten the elastic at the back at the nape of the wig to fit your head snugly. 4. If you have a parting on the wig colour only the parting with powder to match your skin , or coco powder, 5, Apply your wig front to back adjust the ear tab by shifting wig to the correct position.6 use fine hairpins secure wig through the foundation in the vicinity and through the head band 1. inch away on both sides of the parting the top of the hairpin must not be visible, another hairpin on the ear tab above the ear. 7. Secure also the back of the wig on both sides using bobby pins to go through the edge of the wig and headband. 8. With an short angle eyeliner brush use Spirit gum spearingly under the hairline lace with the flat angle brush. 9. Using a clean powder puff press the edges of the lace that you have applied the spirit gum to pick up the excess glue that will seep through the lace. To remove wig use 99% alcohol with a cotton pad to gently press onto the lace front to dislodge the glue, start lifting gently from the ear tab across the front if there is resistance reapply alcohol soaked pad, remove hairpins you used to secure wig. Always clean lace and disinfect inside wig lay on its back to expose the foundation to clean and disinfect. 9. These are the tools you will need if you will be wearing a wig. 10:have more than one wig at your disposal clean , styled and ready to go. 11. After every use must clean the lace to remove glu to prevent build up and clean the perimeter , 12. spray inside with disinfectant spray to keep it clean and fresh 2. Must have a Canvas Block (sawdust filled, not styrofoam foam filled to fit your head size with or without hair. Cover it with paper, and clear packing tape to keep it clean and sanitize, (A regular styrofoam head is a child’s head size) to wash hand tied or ventilated wig , you protect your canvas block with a plastic bag, twist the nape tight and pin down, 2 horns of the bag at the top twist and tape or pin down, place your precleaned wig on the block, secure it with blocking pins, if race is wrinkled, use flat iron to straighten, use bias tape and block lace front with glass head pins. Wig must be snug on the block if not you need to pad the block that’s another tutorial. If not snug the knots on the ventilated wig will loosen when washing, and the wig will shed hair. Detangle hair by partings, using a pick,or paddle brush. Dilute shampoo in a spray bottle, dilute vinegar in a bottle. Wet wig just like you will in a shampoo bowl face up, wet wig thoroughly with warm water, spray diluted shampoo, do not agitate the hair, gently stroke fingers from root to point turning block to get to the sides and back, if you don’t get suds, rinse and reapply shampoo do the same till you produce suds, rinse thoroughly apply vinegar rinse, rinse, apply conditioner to ends, rinse, towel dry, shake upside down, place on table wigstand, make several partings comb through and apply mousse to each section, set, or blow dry, use desired size flat iron or curling iron. Once styled cover in tissue paper or protective covering to keep it free from atmospheric dust. Take the time to remove and clean your wig. Wearing a wig for days is a health hazard, your scalp,in not breathing, you are not stimulating your scalp for growth, you are creating unsanitary buildup of sebum, oil in your scalp that will create an unpleasant smell, you will create damage to your hair, to freshen up your scalp at the partings, you will need to clean the partings if your hair is cornrowed with, seebreeze, whichhazel, or vinegar,. The reason that black super curly hair shaft is dry is because of the curl, pattern the oil from your scalp you produce cannot travel down the shaft. I reccomend you get a curry brush from the pet store and start stimulating your scalp for regrowing your hair it takes 5 minutes 2 times daily the same way you maintain your teeth in AM and before bed. I have been working with all textures of hair since the 60s I work in the entertainment industry Theatre and film, I am a trained wig maker, born in the Caribbean, I teach the fundamentals of working with wigs, styling hair for any Ocassions, Vintage hairstyles on all types of hair, I also coach on how to maintain and grow healthy hair with proper food, supplements and scalp stimulation using several modalities. I recently had feedback from a performer who thanked me for recommending the supplements and things to do,for regrowth and she was so excited that her hair had grown 3 inches. Wonderful video- very concisely done and informative. I went and got both a silicone and a suede band with lace since I'm bald and don't have a silk top wig. I think mine are a different brand than yours despite looking the same because both of mine are adjustable with velcro where as both of yours in the type I got are merely stretchy. I bought mine in the beauty supply store and they were on sale for $1.50 each where as the ones I saw online go up to $15 O.o Haven't had the chance to wear them out and about with my wig though so hopefully they'll help me feel more secure as I rely on nothing more than a snug fit to keep the wig on. I don't like glue or tape and have no hair at all to pin of clip the wig to.

This was so helpful! I like to wear wigs once in a while, but sometimes the sellers don't say if the wig has clips or not. And my hair is so sleek that even with clips my wigs just slide around sometimes. Now I don't have to worry about that anymore! This will make it so much easier.

What method worked for you because my wigs slide back and it makes me very self conscious, but I love wearing wigs.

I have only the silicone band. New to wigs. You are right, it makes me sweat. There are two sizes of bumps on mine. I put the small bumps against my skin and have never noticed any indentations in it after wearing the band. It was quite tight to begin with but I think it may have relaxed a little. It also makes me sweat less. I may also just be getting used to wearing wigs. I lift it a bit higher over my ears and have not noticed it peeking out as it did on you. I wear glasses and needed the space over and behind my ears.

Thank you for advice on wig grips i am thinking of buying some of the grips that are stitched in but first i will try the silicone band.

Thank you for your insight love. Great video! It looks like you had the last one on inside out. That’s why it left the indentations. And I usually see people wear wig cap before adding the wig grip for extra protection & security ❤️

I used to add the wig cap with the wig grip when I first shaved my head. Good grief..those two together plus the wig felt like my head was in a vice grip! 🤣🤣🤣

Oh weird on the silicone grip...1 part is usually smooth against your scalp, whilst the other side to grasp the wig has the risen bumps. Maybe there's different versions now. Lovely video and you're a beauty!

Thank you! I thought it was really weird too, if I can find one flat on the inside I’ll definitely give it another try

Great review! I've tried all of them and agree with you on the silicone grip. I didn't like that I couldn't adjust it, I didn't like the marks it left on my scalp and it ended up snapping on me. This is the first of your videos and have subscribed. Thanks!

This video is so helpful. I just made the decision to shave the last bit of hair on my head and go with wigs. I'm so confused about where to start with which wigs to get when you have no hair. I'm check your page for recommendations

I have tried all three wig grips. The big velcro is my favorite and I like the smaller velcro with the clear part as well. The plastic one with all the little prickly things went in my trashcan as soon as I tried that one on. It felt really tight on my head. I refuse to wear something tight on my head. I wish I saw your video long time ago.
