I test drove one of these the other week and was able to accelerate up to 70 mph and stay on electric only power without the petrol motor kicking in. I was very impressed.

KIA is killing it of late! I like them a lot (we even got one of their hybrids few months back!) One thing that annoys me though and that has been an (admittedly small) issue in every KIA I've tried is that they let in a lot of road noise. I hope it's something they will fix in the future.

@@vanaramauk I know that Mark... Just, I don't believe it's mentioned here, so people just stumbling, upon this video, might not know & just take it, at face value.... So, maybe a few edits, to show the inside, & when you mention, selecting electric only mode, it showed that... Would have made it, a lot better... Including, mentioning about the more in depth video review, of this vehicle, near the beginning!?? Apart from that, I know what your style & format, just my friend whom watched it, on my smart TV, was commenting, about what I've said here, & above.. Basically, that hmmm he's not showing me, the car inside, & the outside shots, are a bit far away, arty farty look, I've got a drone, to video me shots, that don't work as well, as they could, because of the lack of, some decent close ups etc... Look, he's mentioning selecting this/that, but he's not showing it, in the video! Why, was this made, it's pretty pointless, really! I did say, well he's most likely, got a more in depth review, on it if you look etc... To which my friend said, well then just, have the more in depth one, mentioning the drive quality etc... & showing the features, inside & out etc... then, this video isn't needed! I said, I'll mention it! He said, if the guy had if said, right at the beginning, watch my more in depth review, of this model here etc... as this one, doesn't really go, in2 much detail etc... Then, he would have just skipped it, & watched the other video 👍👍 So, I was just passing on his, critique of this video review. He also pointed out, that someone else, has mentioned similar things, in the comments! Anyway, all the best, stay safe & I look forward, to seeing more detailed video reviews, in the future 👍👍 I've told my friend, to look over your video selection 👍👍 P.s I've just ordered, a GT-LINE S HEV... 👍👍

Question: if you only do commuter short travels, why don't you just get an electric car and dispense with lugging around an ICE you don't need? You could rent a car for once- in-a-year vacation. And if you do a lot of kilometers, why lug around with a battery that dies after just 25 miles?
@whocares2642 жыл бұрын
Why lug around an engine gearbox and petrol tank..
@ritahjean5432 жыл бұрын

40 miles on just EV but that's not the way it works, you need to get your head round it, you clearly haven't.
@andreiarama87452 жыл бұрын
Your question is not to find answers,is to prove your point. The plug-in cars are for people that can only have one car,use it for commuting and the electric range it's enough but they also do longer trips and don't want to stop to charge or there's no possiblity to charge it. For me an plug-in is the worse of them all,for some the best that exists. For me the pic of the range is the HEV. For who does a lot of highway miles the diesel is the answer,but it's beyond me why would you buy a big heavy SUV instead of an sw if you do a lot of miles
@neillewis82Ай бұрын
Without plugging it in over 580 miles of mixed driving roads I've got 41.6mpg... the car weighs nearly 2.5 tonnes. Plugging it in is probably a waste of time

After owning one of these for 4 months and 3300 miles I can truly say that this is an awful car. The gearbox is hesitant, the infotainment system is absolute garbage, the accelerator pedal is pure Fisher Price. It would appear that Kia has released this terrible product onto the market ahead of carrying out any testing leaving the end user to find out all of it's problems. This is my first Kia and will be 100% my last, I cannot wait for this lease to end.

If you just drove 10 miles a day at a snails pace and charged the battery every night, would the mpg not just end up at 999mpg? I don’t get how they come up with a figure on PHEVs
@stephenwakeman30742 жыл бұрын
Similarly to how they come up with any fuel efficiency figures; by combining the average of different driving types and cycles. Which is why I might get into a car and get 40mpg and you might get into the same car and achieve 45mpg. Because you drove differently, to a different place on a different road. And whilst your usage figure isn’t impossible, few people drive like that in real life. Plus, if they did why wouldn’t they just get an electric car?
@runawayronnie2 жыл бұрын
Nobody can account for different types of drivers and different road or weather conditions. But if you test all cars under the same condition e.g. in a laboratory, then what it does is give a figure where you can make comparison. So if Car 'A' returns 40mpg on average, car 'B' returns 50mpg on average, whilst you probably won't achieve those figures, you should find car B will return 10mpg more than car A.
@fatfreddyscoat75642 жыл бұрын
The average distance about 90% of people drive is apparently around 9 miles so this comes into it: WLPT tests are absolutely not representative of what you will ever see from a car and are a complete joke.
