Another disappointing thing is that there are no character voices in this video game at all. Instead, this video game forces you to try reading written out subtitles displayed at the bottom of the screen whenever a character is supposedly saying something. This sucks considering that all of the original voice actors for these characters are still alive in 2018. Come on, I want to look at all the action going on the screen as I'm racing, not having reading a bunch of words that appear at the bottom of the screen. Kinda of telling how this video game was produced with a small budget when you can't have any voice acting at all. The only voice actor is the generic announcer guy that's heard talking in 1 of the trailers for this video game. Also, why couldn't they just use archived audio files for the characters voices in this video game, especially when some of them are saying their regular catchphrases? Nicktoons Racing was able to make the characters speak just from ripping voice audio from various episodes of the TV shows.

Character selection is really impoverished. I agree Chucky and Reptar are the most marketable Rugrats characters, so I'm surprised Chucky's not on it. I'm a 90s kid. I don't care for the zoomer reboot of Turtles, and Spongebob ushered the downfall of Nickelodeon. So instead, I would've loved to see characters from Doug, Rocko, and Ah Real Monsters. I also would've loved to see courses pay homage to 90s classics like Temple of Doom and Salute Your Shorts.

Things they could’ve done: 1. Add more franchises like jimmy neutron, Wild thornberries, breadwinners, etc 2. Obviously include voice acting even if the voices aren’t the same 3. the 2012 TMNT don’t need to be on here because this game came out about a month after Rise of the TMNT premiered so they should’ve gotten left out or hell, if they should be on here, take a page from Mario kart 8 and 8 Deluxe and make one the turtles the same character with a different skin like the colorful yoshis and shy guys but with different voice acting from each turtle

@@vanburen20 It's pretty great! Maybe I just have good memories with it and it's not actually that good but I think it is good. It had a nice varied character roster and the track list was good and varied as well unlike this new game which while has 20 tracks it also just uses the same theme multiple times for different layouts... Gameplay in Nicktoons Racing was more like Toy Story Racers, Crash Team Racing or Mario Kart than this game is and the music, sound effects and voice acting was good if I remember correctly.

I used to play it and it was fun, but I played it recently and it hasn't aged too good. The controls are finicky and gameplay can feel choppy at times. It was still a good game and had better characters.

If this had online I can’t imagine the servers would be great, and I can’t imagine a lot of people would play it online anyway as the marketing for this game has been pretty bad, besides Kart racing games should be played together and not online anyway. I would rather get the reactions of my friends beating them then beating people online that I don’t even know

In my opinion, Nickelodeon Kart Racers isn't the worst racing game out here, but I feel like it should have been given another year or two to add more content. Unfortunately, Bamtang Games went the cheaper route rushed the game, limiting it to having just four Nicktoons; Rugrats, SpongeBob, Hey Arnold!, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012). While it did have a good choice of Nicktoons (especially since TMNT wasn't always a Nickelodeon property), there are still many more Nicktoons they could have chosen. This is also a disappointment for fans of The Loud House, one of Nickelodeon's newer yet still very popular shows, since none of the characters from that show appear in the game. By comparison, Nicktoons Racing was released for the PC and PS1 back in 2001, and it had characters from eight different Nicktoons; Rugrats, SpongeBob, Hey Arnold!, The Ren and Stimpy Show, Aaahh! Real Monsters, CatDog, and The Wild Thornberrys. This was back when the Nicktoons line-up was limited to less than fifteen shows, and today, there are over thirty. So much potential that Bamtang Games didn't want to use.

+Lukáš Zapletal In my opinion, Sega made the right decision by delaying Team Sonic Racing to Spring 2019, considering the consequences they got for rushing out previous games such as Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric. I think Nickelodeon Kart Racing could have been spectacular if it was given another year or two to add more content, including The Loud House, but Bamtang Games went the cheaper route and rushed the game out, limiting the roster to just four Nicktoons. In other words, Sega Does What Bamtang Games Don't.

The character roster is just pitiful. Like, there’s not enough variety from multiple shows. Where’s Rocko? Where’s the Wild Thornberries? What about Invader Zim? Jimmy Neutron is such a meme now he’d be a huge hit with the youth lol. I’m not sure who has the rights to it, but Fairly Oddparents and Danny Phantom would be good reps unless of course they’re avoiding them due to Butch Hartman’s leave. I also feel like the lack of voice acting really messes the whole game up. We know these aren’t silent characters, they could have easily just used stock recordings from the respective show’s episodes. I’m definitely skipping out on this one, it’s a shame too. They managed to make a game worse than the Nicktoons Racer game from the early 2000s.

When i listen "Nickelodeon Kart Racers" i don't think in Mario Kart, i think in Nicktoons Racing for the PSX (and GBA i think), a very fun game and with a very good and solid gameplay, that's why when i see this 04:29 i'm like, wtf, just that? Nicktoons Racing have characters from Sponge Bob, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, Catdog, The Angry Beavers, Wild Thronberrys, Ren and Stimpy, two from each, a large roster for the time, great music, great tracks and very nice graphics for the time too, was very fun and there was a secret character in a black car that you can unlock when you finish all the cups in all the difficulties, you had something to do in the game, and of course, it had a Bikini Bottom Track, a little strange but anyways, if you liked this game and fell a little dissapointed with it, you should definitely play Nicktoons Racing, a classic, the game that you want to compare with this one, not Mario Kart, and if one of the above series was your favorite when you were younger, you HAVE to play Nicktoons Racing, i think it was a way better game than this one, seriously.

Looks a little too basic. One of the closest cart racing games to Mario Kart was Beach Buggy Racing imo. I thought it actually did a few things even better than MK, like customizing karts, parts, colour, etc. Racetracks were also very well designed, actually took skill to get around which made it heaps of fun! Nothing else ever came close to MK imo

So ignoring the disappointing character roster... So you start the game and all characters and maps are available? I HATE that! Like, what happened to the old days of Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing, or even other genres like TimeSplitters or fighting games, where you had to play the game and unlock characters!? I WANT to have to unlock characters and maps etc. I hate that most games give everything for free at the start. Are people just too lazy to want to unlock things these days...? (I do get you can earn currency for upgrades, but honestly it's not the same as unlocking hidden characters etc) If everything is unlocked at the start, what's the point? Also, a third of this roster is taken up by TMNT lmao, reskins basically and they're not proper Nickelodeon, I don't care what anyone says

@@londonjackson8986 You see, that's where I disagree. I think it is the biggest flaw of the game. It's just my opinion of course, but in a game like this, it's always about the unlockables. In the days of Smash Bros Melee, Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing, TimeSplitters, old fighting games- it was all about unlocking the hidden stuff for me. If this game had twice the amount of characters with half of them hidden? I'd have bought it instantly! Nowadays it's not really a thing, but in the 90s and 2000s, before DLC became so huge and more people didn't need up front without effort to unlock etc. unlockables were everywhere :(

The game looks ridiculously uninspired for having access to such a massive amount of quality material to draw from. A Nickelodeon party game could be so good if they just put some actual resources and effort into it. The roster here is absolutely PATHETIC! No Ren & Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Angry Beavers, Invader Zim, Ahh Real Monsters, Doug, Wild Thornberries, Avatar... all these shows have iconic and distinct styles that could make for amazing, immersive tracks and add plenty characters to the roster. Just stop half-assing the licensed games!
