It's good if she REALLY wants to learn about her Filipino heritage...it only took her 34 years to visit the Philippines! But to be an ambassador? It's hilarious! There are others who deserve it more than her that actually do more to promote the culture; sandara, bretman rock, apl.de.ap, Jessica Lee, Kulas etc. Sandara has become vocal even before she rose to fame. Has been to the country several times on her own or with friends, eats the food, speaks the language and even traveled there for a TV show to promote the country. If anyone has seen that show, that should be clear why the Philippines has never won. Anyways, Vanessa has only been vocal after she was asked about being half. Most Americans don't even know she's half filo. Most think she's latina! Now, Rob Schneider on the other hand ALWAYS inserts his Filipino heritage whenever he can. Vanessa is the typical half Filipino in the US that is ashamed of that side of themselves. And I know plenty! Even the full blooded pinoys don't know shit about the culture. I'm only 1/4 Pinay but god forbid, if we spoke other languages at my lola's house besides bisaya or Catalan then get ready for a flying tsinelas to hit you. There ain't to excuse not to know filipino culture....they are literally everywhere! I guess cuz it's cool now to embrace your Pinoy heritage and even more fun that someone paid for her trip.
