Love this song. Just watched the news regarding her being a judge on the pageant. I remember those times she went thru with it. The crown is a thing. Vanessa dominated music in the 80's and 90's, so yes, millions know she can sing. lol maybe dominated is an overstatement, but I remember recording her videos, along with Jody Watley, Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson from VH1 and she definitely had a lot of style which made her unique.
