Good summary - I recently bought one and I don't use the tension straps unless it is really windy. When it's windy, you don't get midge anyway so you don't need to worry about the small gaps to the inner tent.

Looks like a great wee tent Robin. Judith and I have been using the Banshee 200 (one each) since 2013 with no problems. Apart from breaking a pole. My own fault entirely for first of all leaning on it and bending it. Then trying to straighten it. Lesson learned. Although still under warranty , Cotswold maintain that Vango only guarantee the pole for the first pitch but I was able to order one online for £16. My fault entirely but then again Andrew Lafferty broke one too so perhaps a weak point and something to watch out for. My tension system is actually connected to the outer tent only and I’m led to believe that it is not supposed to ever be tight. You’re meant to leave a bit of slack there so that when the wind moves the tent. The tension straps, not the tent, take the butt of the force. Ours are great tents for the price, totally waterproof in torrential rain and very very stable in severe winds and I’d imagine yours to be even better with the benefit of a further 6 years R’n’ D. Love the Sainsbury’s bag btw.

For £72 and that weight, I would say you got a bargain, as long at it is watertight. Cheers Alan

That was my thinking Alan, I wasn't expecting much but I was pleased with it.

Tents always look great when pitched on perfectly flat ground.....

That's true, this certainly wasn't on flat ground.

Cracking tent mate, same design as mine, I might get the 3 man version of this one eventually for camping with my son, they are a bargain , all the best 👍

Cheers Gaz, they're very underrated tents I think mate.

Nice revue, I had the Nevis 200, it seen me through a few stormy nights, no issues other than some flapping noise. Stupidly sold it and regretted ever since. Purchased a way more expensive ultralight tent, got damaged pretty quickly. Can't beat a Vango 💪

They make great tents. No nonsense, know what you're getting.

I've got the Nevis 100 - can vouch for it being a brilliant tent! Also recommend the Blade 200 for 2 people, or 1 person and kit I wish Vango would re-release the Blade 100 - that was a cracker! And they ought to do a bivvy as well
@WalkWithWallace2 жыл бұрын
You usually can't go wrong with a Vango to be honest. 🏕 A bivvy would a nice addition.
@Martin-oz6lr3 жыл бұрын
I use the 300, for a three man tent at 2.5kg it's quite light. It also handled high winds really well.
@WalkWithWallace3 жыл бұрын
Can't argue with that mate, they're good solid tents.

Vango havnt put any thought whatsoever into its scottish named tents , ironically none have midge mesh doors , none in the range ! So its look at your feet or get eaten alive , no inbetween , vango need to catch up , or call them something without scenery or midges , because you wont get one without the other paradox !
