The BEST Budget Backpacking Tent? Vango Nevis 100 Review

I’ve been looking at so many different tents and reading about all the different options until I’ve become bemused and overwhelmed by all the details. Time and again I think I’ve found the perfect tent, only to find out that it’s way too expensive, or it’s difficult to pitch, or it’s no good in high winds. This one seems to cover all the bases. Your review was very thorough and well filmed and recorded. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I’m going to go for the 2 man version for the extra space. Mainly I want to thank you for the reassurance that I’m getting a decent tent at a fair price. I’m subscribing to learn more.

I'm about to start watching this but wanted to say that I've had one of these since early 2020. It has been used a lot, including a 2 month kayak trip from John O'Groats to Land's End. Yep, 2 months of living in a one man tent on beaches and the occasional campsite (it was nice to have a shower every now and then). The tent is great, I had to re-waterproof it this year for the first time. The downside is the main tent pole. I have had it fail numerous times, I think it's because of the tight curve, plus alloys don't really appreciate being bent many times. I have since made my own tent pole using angled ferrules which has made a huge difference to the longevity of the poles, without affecting the the operation of the tent. I have camped in all weather, including force 8 winds, and on just about every terrain. I'm almost 6ft tall and never struggled for space. For the money, it's excellent but get spare pole sections if you intend to use it a lot.

I've been using the earlier 200 version of this which was the Vango Zenith for 10 years and it's still going strong. If it ever gives up the ghost, I'll defo be getting the Nevis.

I have 2 of these .i liked the first one so much i bought a second . My kids use them one each. I also have a helium ul1 and a cairngorm 200 . I like the tent shape that much .

I have the nevis 3 man tent and that's taken an absolute battering and laughed all the way through. Crazy good for a budget tent.

Great tent, if the outer gets wet and it’s time to pack it away, it then soaks the inner when they touch each other,, suppose all tents do that though! Next time it’s wet, I will remove the inner first and all should be fine Superb quality tent

Hey Serdar, I can only really speak on Vango, I’ve only ever had good experiences with the brand obviously with the Nevis, also with the Heddon, absolutely confident, never leaks, stands up to the wind, takes whatever the elements can throw at them 👍

Guys, can anyone share their experience can this Vango tent stand a 7-8mm rainfall ( in 24 hours) in Norways like 9-10 km/h wind?? Please let me know your rain experiences!!
