To clarify the "OTT no respect" comment: I meant that when you top with OTT right now, no one respects that, since it's such a blatantly superior deck. People scroll past it and go "oh, ott topped? pffsht, who cares". So I took Granblue over OTT in Standard, given that the slight added win % (due to variance mattering so much) wouldn't out-value the potential credibility a GB top over an OTT top would get. It sucks for OTT mains (like Mohammed who even now topped Premium with a really creative OTT build) who have been sticking with the clan for so long and have done well, because people won't look past that clan symbol, but it is what it is.

Oh no, you saw my cannoneer timing miss. xD The biggest blunder of my life lmao. Was nice playing you! Your build looked a lot like mine (not using boosters, being in love with saberflow :P, etc..) and I was really impressed with your score. I think literally the only reason it didn't work out was because you flipped sebreze with alex instead of galfilia so me not attacking you, resulted in you only having 1 CB so you couldn't go Alex+Thavas g3 at the same time. I was quite stressed that game hha :P

Same my heart was racing the whole time. I hadn't played in about 3 months and you were the first player who denied me damage, so i was completely thrown off. Hearing your triple crit story made me remember that I almost triple critted Different fight on round 1...unfortunately I didn't go full anime and lost to a roided up Stark but it was an absolutely amazing game.

It was quite hectic to juggle between talking to people, signing things and playing focused on high tables haha. I had to decline everyone asking for a game and said I could do it after the tourney. I ended up playing, I believe, 4 people whom I promised on saturday evening :) Definitely ask next time, I don't mind playing once the big pressure is off hha :)

Why is OTT Gyze so scary? I haven't gone up against it

Because it keeps you at 1-2 damage so most decks can't do anything and beats you when they're ready, but they have so many ways to stack the deck + protect markers that they reach it fast and easily survive until gyze drops. Beyond that, Granblue has no way to reach high numbers unless we get plenty of turns to pump up skull dragon, which we usually don't get because OTT stacks so much.

Really makes no sense, ott had been undersupoorted for year and when it finally got some good support like ichikishima people complained and then with v support it's even more complaining. When al4 is released ott isn't gonna be as good as it used to be due to those clans it will be close. Due to nlk demon eater doreen combo. Being careful of zanbaku when ott can't afford to stall. Or even pale moon with the constant attacks. Anyways I got 4th at Texas standard regionals with ott and 13th with ott gyze. Basically only times I lost was due to bricking which hurt against the mirror in standard and then against nova asura Kaiser in premium having no defensive triggers. I'm gonna try again at anaheim but these al4 clans might be a problem for me

This is one thing I hate about Regionals. You went x-1. Your only loss was the last round, yet you placed 13th. It's soo stupid. Drops and weights are unbalanced. Bushiroad has it setup to where you go undefeated or don't top. That's really dumb and unfair. I'm sure they will never change it. Shit, just adding more one round, just one more round could easily fix this.

It is why clan loyalists sometimes hate it when their clan become the hype/meta XD They lose the special snowflake status and attention. Poor LivingProof, he will lose his soon. People find it more satisfying when they top with something perceived as an underdog/fresh/unique.

As KarakuraNinja said; you indeed get 0 respect for topping with OTT these days. Everyone sees 6 OTT tops out of top 8 in standard and goes "ok yeah, so who's the spike player that topped?" even though he wasn't in top 3 and all the OTT players were. The deck is so blatantly superior to everything else that topping with it demands next to no respect. So I went for GB, knowing that variance is so big in Standard VG. The 10% extra topping chance OTT could give me, wasn't worth not getting cred in case I did top. As Karakura also mentioned; it kinda sucks for clan loyalists. Mohammed has been topping with OTT builds even when it was absolutely shit and even now in Premium he played something different than cookie cutter IchiTom yet people won't look past the OTT clan symbol.
