Vanguard Endeavor ED II 8x42 Binoculars

I just ordered these Binos after doing a bunch of research , I had a few criterias when looking . Price : $180 Had to have either Japan or German Glass , and I wanted either 8x or 10x42 . I originally ordered the Vanguard ED 10x42 , description said Japan glass , which is wrong . After emailing the seller and pointing this out he assured me it was a mistake and sent me out the EDII 8x42 for no extra charge , Open Box (basically brand New ) for $168 dollars . These are great Binos , and have a Great Warranty , No questions asked Repair or Exchange .

Thank you for the great review sir! You are a very good speaker with really detailed info on binoculars. I'm deciding between these and the 8.5x45's. I'm getting into birding as a hobby to take into my retirement years.

the 10'5x45 and 8.5x45 are the best bins Vanguard ever made, or maybe will ever make. Why they dropped them is beyond me. The 10x42 isn't even close.

Would love to see you do a comparison of the Vanguard line up and the Vortex lineup you consider comparable and give us your opinion of quality and clarity between the two. Also...really love the quick focus (3/4 turn) on the Vanguards!

Im looking for the best binocular in the 8x30/32 size for under $500. Id like the Vortex Viper 8x32 but they are a little too much. Can you please let me know which of these, and others you recommend, are the best for the price? Nikon Monarch 7 8X30 Vanguard Endeavor ED2 8x32 (Im considering these over all the rest) Leupold Mojave 8X32 Sightron S2 Blue Sky 8X32 (probably the best value out of all) Kowa BD 8X32

Thanks for the question. I can't comment on the bins that I have not actually tested, but take a look at all the Mid-Sized bins I have reviewed here: tinyurl.com/BBRMidSizeBins - of those, the ones that really stood out for me within your budget include the Celestron Granite, Hawke Endurance ED 8x32 and Opticron Discovery 8x32. Having test but not yet reviewed the Vanguard Endeavor EDII 8x32, I can also confirm that they look to be a great pair of bins.

Thanks... talking live on camera is really not my forte, so I hope it adds something. I make these videos so that you can get a good look at the dimensions, build quality and the positioning of some of the external parts and so should still most definitely be viewed in-line with the full review on BBR.

Hi yes, there are Digital Camera Binoculars, I recommend you look at these articles: www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/blog/camera-binoculars/ - but as you will see unless you are prepared to spend a lot of money, most are really not worth it and you are better off either digibinning (attaching a camera or your phone to an eyepiece of a binocular with an adapter www.bestbinocularsreviews.com/blog/tag/digibinning/ ) or just having a separate pair of binoculars and a good zoom camera.

Latest ones are made in Myanmar formerly Burma, but this is not a problem because they are metal, and still much cheaper than the Zeiss Terra, which are plastic and made in China.

What exactly do you mean by HD? Many optics companies refer to their binoculars having HD optics. Usually, this is just marketing jargon and can refer to a number of things. Often they lead you to believe that this is some sort of special "High-Density Glass", but without quantifying how it is different from the optical glass used on their non HD models. To others, it means that they have used all their best coatings (Anti-reflection are phase-corrected and with dielectric mirror coatings on the prisms) and also have ED glass lenses. But as far as I am aware there is no standard for what HD actually is and I now treat ED and HD as basically meaning the same thing.
