Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is, in my humble opinion, the best game ever made, and this emulator is coming along so nicely, so a huge thank you to everyone putting hours in to develop it. It can be warmly recommended to try it out and to give a hand wherever possible :-)

Pretty stunning scenery. The classes and gameplay are also satisfying in the same way that EQ1 is. Very much the spiritual successor - more what everyone expected EQ2 to be.

It's a great game. Less barriers to entry than EQ. Def worth playing if there's some ppl around. Doesn't replace p99 but it's a great game.

Good game. Roll Halfling full DEX for melee. High Elf full WIS for casters. Those are the best races. You'll be OP if u do this. Other stats u build thru gear/buffs/songs.

Ah, I remember this game, though sadly it was too buggy at launch due to rushing and bad engine choice. Been playing the emulator for some time now and really enjoy going back to Qalia and rewitnessing its beauty. Would love if the restauration was given an additional hand or two, though.

I had the same experience, waited for Vanguard for ages, on release it was so buggy I couldn't handle it, maybe made it to level 4 or 5 on a blood mage and quit, never picked it back up. This looks pretty decent, a bad launch will absolutely kill an MMO.

Probably will play. VSOH had so much potential, sadly it was way too rushed, it seems PROF might be a worthy EQ1 successor

Sorry at work couldn't watch the entire video, so if he answered this I apologize. How is it? I tried it a couple years ago now and it was almost empty content. How far can you play now? Is there crafting yet?

They have complete questlines that you can follow up to about 30-35ish. Still a lot of content to add. Many of the dungeons pre-50 are populated now, but many have boss place holders. Through a fair amount of grinding you can lvl to 50. New armor sets, questlines etc. are continually being added on a slow, but regular basis. There is also a command to set your level, can't remember it now but someone in their discord will know.

www.vgoemulator.net/ It runs much smoother on modern equipment than at launch. There are still plenty of bugs, but more associated with the emu than the original game.

@@zorgonox8479 i cant get the emu to launch do i nedd a file extractor or what when i start the launcher it says client not found. Cant unzip the files on my pc or with 7 zip. Cant move the launcher into the client just doesnt work

@@zorgonox8479 there was a problem with the free 7 zip extractor. Got winrar and it worked as it did in the video. Thought i was going crazy. Or thought i was starting to get computer illiterate. Lol. This game is so awesome its great to be able to explore telon again!!

Comparing two different worlds, you know that. Profi Pantheon team (paid staff) vs VGOemu volunteers working during weekends and nights to bring back the game. So, after like 7 years of development Pantheon's release is not a benchmark for VGOemu one-day-finished job.

Discord seems active with small, but regular updates; slowly but surely from a team with real jobs doing this in their spare time, I'm not complaining.

I refer to this gem as EQOA 2, met a similar fate as well. Fantastic games that never reached their full potential. I see many EQ1 fans count this as a true EQ2. Goes to show how closely related EQ1 and EQOA were, EQ2 idk what that game is... it started off alright, but then went cookie cutter WoW. I personally think the graphic style is horrible, and it still runs like arse.

@@Drake_Ebonheart Probably not much beyond what I put in the video, but some; join their discord and you can scroll through and see the updates from the last few months; seemed that they have done some work on necros since I posted, but still issues with grafts
