He does come across as quite the war weary veteran. To think he was one of the first in and ultimately: one of the last out. Surviving all the way through the massacre to escape certain death by the wings of Captain Bran and his strike cruiser.

Was really surprised to hear that it all took place over 7 minutes. Talk about brutal. You did a good job making the character sound surprised as well.

The entire "Istvaan" part of 40k/Heresy might be THE most underrated and mostly unknown piece of sci-fi pewpew on such a scale. The orbital bombardment wich starts a fight in 40k/Heresy would be the AND ROLL CREDITS part of so many scifi franchises, on Istvaan though, planetary devastation IS THE OPENING OF THE BATTLE. If only modern movie makers cared about actually good cinematography+BONKERS LORE/STORY. I believe any mortal "Imperial Army" dude/dudette would go completely insane once the "reinforcements" arrive and legions slaughter legions in transhumanly inhuman ways. Fk the traitors. Glory be to all those who stood and died where they coule have switched sides and rewarded with much greater power.

The way you narrate this character he has a very battle worn voice. Wary and rough. The Horus Heresy had many intense battles. Horus was a master manipulator. This will be my last one tonight. I'll listen more tomorrow. This binge has been wonderous. Thank you for all of your time and effort making these. Keep it up.

While it is generally assumed by many fans that the 2 lost primarchs were killed by Leman Russ, it was never actually confirmed. The first time on record that space marines fought space marines was when the space wolves took on the world eaters after leman confronted Angron about his method of war and the implementation of the butchers nails into his sons. As for the loss of the 2 primarchs, we know very little but one thing we do know is that the legions were not at fault, and were actually spared, mind wiped and inducted into the ultra marines and imperial fists. It’s also stated by belisarius Cawl that the geneseed of the lost primarchs wasn’t corrupted. Whatever happened to the lost primarchs, it was their crime alone. They are known as the lost and the purged. The most supported theory is that 1 was lost during the Rangdan Xenocide, which was a the biggest conflict of the crusade before Ullanor, and took the lives of 50,000 dark angels and included both lost legions. This was likely the fate of the purged. The rangdan are very mysterious but from what little we know, they were capable of some form of mind/body manipulation. The methods used to exterminate them were on par with what’s needed to get rid of an Ork infestation, where every cell needs to be destroyed or else the enemy can resurge quickly. It’s likely the 2nd primarch(I say 2nd for a reason) was corrupted by the rangdan and was killed by either Leman, who was also there, or his own legion. The fate of the 11th, however has less detail to go off. Neither primarch were looked on as traitors; they were seen as tragic losses. With the new custodes lore mentioning a being known as “subject 11” in the dark cells; and sanginius’ comment to Horus about how his flaw might make the emperor purge him, that the 11th(not his legion, we know they had nothing to do with it) had some form of gene flaw or pyschic issue that required the direct intervention of the emperor, and was severe enough it had to be kept secret, and thus kept the 11th in stasis under the palace until he could either fix the issue or kill the 11th safely. I have more context and lore for why I think this but this comment is already long as hell. TLDR: Leman fought Angron before the heresy and that was the 1st record of SM V SM. The 2 lost primarchs are a different mystery

Maybe so but knowledge of those conflicts was no doubt suppressed. Also the Raven Guard was the second to last legion to be formed if I'm not mistaken. So they'd probably would not have the knowledge about these events.

God these are good. The BL bolter porn descriptions of combat are so droll and boring. It's like reading a ww2 history book about troop deployment. The brutal chaos of combat isn't well told by details down to the bolt. But this is captivating. The writing on its own is engaging. The voice work and music over it just absolutely seals it. I'm impressed with your versatility of both dramatic story arcs but also explosive scenes of action.
