It’s been 6 weeks since I began my journey on The Camino Frances. And every day comes with a new lesson. As much as this has been physically painful and sometimes downright difficult, I have loved every minute I am on this trail. As I get closer to Santiago I find myself continuously breaking down, or what actually feels like Breaking OPEN. It's in these moments I realize why I'm here even though sometimes it can be difficult to put in words.
And as cheesy as it sounds I know it's to find myself.

Well, it was another week of emotion, beauty, reflection, and insights on the Camino Frances. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be on this walk and have the space to explore these questions in my life. Have you walked the Camino? If so, did you find yourself asking and receiving answers to BIG questions in your life too? BUEN CAMINO!

I really like your series, you´re so openhearted: When I first saw your Camino vlog, I reflected over that you looked so different from your vanlife vlogs. In a good way, you seem so relaxed now. I´ve done the Camino Frances 3 times, 2 times part of it and once the whole of it. I did the Norte last year. I have always wanted to live a simple life and so much more after the Caminos. Like: why are we running around in the circle of work, eat, sleep, repeat? Here in Sweden it is quite common to have 2 cars, an expensive house etc etc. Who decided that we all should live like that? At this moment I have 172 days left before I start my sabbatical. I´m never going back to the 9-5 after that :)

Girl, let me tell you something you may not be the head of a Children’s Hospital or something huge like that, but you take us on your travels to places that me personally cannot go do to Disability you show your heart and soul through your work. You’re true to nature, you’re true to us, you put a smile on my face every week I thank you for that

Crystal! My heart breaks for you because I have been there, questioning my life and my value. But let me tell you that even you walking the Camino counts, your friendliness to other pilgrims on the Camino, your ability to make these videos, your generosity in sharing these videos and your knowledge, your ability to see beauty and adventure in the world...this all counts!! We can't all be Mother Theresa or give millions to charity, but we CAN each do small things in our own way to make the world a kinder, better, more loving place.

Crystal, I work with women as they transition from the chapter of life written by others to the one that they decide to create. You documenting your journey both physical and spiritual is beautiful. You are making a difference to so many women watching you solo travel and allow the Camino to be the teacher.

Do not over-analyze each and every moment of the day or try to find meaning to it, but surrender to the Camino and enjoy it ... the answers may come during but they may come after the Camino. Getting through it is only the start, your real Camino begins when you reach Santiago de Compostela. Buen Camino💖

Crystal, what a journey!! Your life is having a huge impact on so many right here - more than you even realize. You are sharing your light and in turn lighting the way for others on their own journey. It’s much like a firefly that lights the evening and as more gather the light becomes brighter - soon the whole field is bright. Enjoy your time on the Camino and know as you walk you will continue to find yourself. That is the plan for all of us - finding God’s light inside ourselves. My prayers continue for you as you walk. I’m so proud of you & grateful for all you are accomplishing for yourself and for all of us as well! Love & Blessings! ❤️🙏🏻😊

Dear Crystal. I have been watching your Camino series since the first video you posted. At 66 I will be doing my own Camino Frances (took 21 years to be able to do it) and like you buying a one way ticket so I can take the time I need. Purpose?...such an important existential question. It will change as you get older as what you can do and want to do changes with the years. As a member of a human world collective, purpose for me is to be kind to others and myself. To love...to allow myself to be loved...and to learn. Whatever you choose to do in the coming months and years, I am confident that you will bring joy and sweetness and love to those you meet which is exactly what you are giving us with your videos. Reminding us that life is about asking questions, about feeling and being and take the time to be kind to ourselves. Buen camino sweet, kind and loving Crystal.

Your videos and reflections just keep getting better and better! You have your whole life in front of you Crystal. We can’t change the past, but we can manage the present and future. The lesson in keeping your stone might be that you are a sojourner, a traveler walking through this world. Intact. Whole. And there's no reason to leave part of yourself behind. After all, just passing through, you're leaving your beautiful energy in that place without having to prove it in any way, shape, or form. As you grow older, you'll look back on this experience and realize that part of your purpose at this time might have been to discover how strong and tenacious you are, and the value of what you're doing is to impart to others the beautiful state of just Being in the moment.

Crystal: that was very touching what you said. Thank you. I have missed you too, and I have missed others on our journey as well. I have been watching your videos with great interest and you have captured life on the Camino beautifully. I did leave my rock at Cruz de Ferro (I was a few days ahead of you) and I had a similar experience as you in that it wasn't what I expected - I figured I would be thinking about myself and letting go something about me behind. But it was my Mom who pervaded my thoughts - she died of cancer in 2006 at the mere age of 64. At Cruz de Ferro I was overcome with emotion and became a blubbering mess. It was a total surprise, but it needed to be let out. I have been telling my family/friends that I have left a piece of me on that damned trail, and so I am going back in September 2023. Hopefully you are doing well and enjoying the life lessons learned on the Camino. Take care and see you sometime Mark (Bill)

Crystal, I know you don’t want to hear this and I certainly don’t want to come off as holier than thou, but the Camino is a traditional Christian pilgrimage and the questions you are asking are so profound and important; it’s not an accident that these questions are surfacing now. You are an amazing person who is giving life to all who are watching your journey and that is a form of giving back to the world! I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed what you have shared! My prayer is that you find God is a manner which is meaningful for you. For me I have found all that you are looking for in Jesus. God bless you on your journey and I rest in the knowledge that God is already using you in mighty ways!

Hi lovely, thanks for another beautiful episode of your adventures❣️ Some thoughts you might want to ponder: - Time doesn't exist. It's a matrix trap. There's absolutely no unwritten rule that one must achieve a b c before the age of x y z. The purpose of this life might simply be to follow our heart. Happiness is a byproduct of doing what you love not a goal in and on itself. - We're not human. We're having a human experience which is something entirely different. - don't believe everything you think(!!) You're kicking co-dependency in the but big time. Congratulations on your courage and determination ❤️ - a good way to practice intuition is to take a designated coin (someone in a village might have a beautiful peseta simply waiting for you) and do heads or tails. Try to predict the outcome by feeling into it. The more you practice the better you'll become. Big hug from Belgium 🤗

I had so many similar feelings at Cruz de Ferro. I was both in the moment there and disappointed at the same time. Some point later in the day, I passed a small marker for a young British man who died on the Camino. It was so much more painful, but so much more meaningful. I've not forgotten those emotions even tho' it was six years ago. You have a beautiful way of saying things. Buen Camino,

The one thing I've learned about life. The older you get the more you have to give back to GOD. What is purpose? Do you think your VLOG hasn't inspired just one of your 51 k subscribers to do the Camino. The purpose of the Camino is not the destination but rather the journey. The Camino is working on you as the Camino does to all people. Shaping, Moulding etc. I'm a funeral director. That is my purpose in life. I didnt find that purpose till I was 44. Very few people find their purpose let alone search for it. Maybe your purpose in life is the Camino. Enjoy the journey :)

This was such a beautiful episode, Crystal! I so admire that you took the time and listened to your intuition at Cruz de Ferro, and chose not to leave your stone behind. It's one of my (mild) regrets from my first Camino, that I placed down a stone that I didn't actually want to leave there (or, maybe, that I didn't want to leave at all). I told myself- "But I carried it all this way! This was where I envisioned laying it down!" and on and on, and also because it was the thing to do! Or so I told myself. So I just loved watching your process and ultimately your decision at this spot on the Camino. Thank you for your openness and vulnerability, particularly in this video! 💛

Is this midlife crisis? Nope, it's maturity. In my generation, we used to search for something more spiritual, at the age of 16/17. However, society has infantilized all of us, so it takes more time for us to listen to those questions. Each will follow their own paths. Mine has been more conected to stoicism and personally speaking to God. Have a nice life experience, Santiago is great!

Crystal, perhaps this is why you are paving the way to bring out this crisis in your life, which is like a feeling of permanent emptiness and dissatisfaction. You wonder what to do to make your life worthwhile from here on out. I also went through the same thing and the answer is Jesus. You can avoid Him for a while if you want, but sooner or later you will have to return to Him, and then you will finally experience the joy of peace and inner bliss that justifies existence.

Crystal, you are a filmmaker. You want to be of value in the world and you don't know what that looks like, and you don't want to waste your life. Crystal, go, find life's victims. Go find the victims. Find out their stories. Talk with them and listen to them. Then amplify their cries. Expose injustice. You will know what to do.

"Why am I here.....in life?" What's the Camino? Why was it created? A tourist trail? Isn't it obvious? You are here to better prepare for eternity with God by means of the Catholic church. But that's up to you.

I was wondering about that too. She must miss her family but it sounds like she doesn’t care to return to van life.

What you need is to find Jesus in your life, for he is the real God and spirit with which you can connect and have meaning in your life. You become the Light of the World and you are forgiven, so you can walk with Pride and help others to find Him for themselves. Those spirits you are talking to either don't exist or are eville spirits. The true meaning of life is so we would find the Father, and find him as the Lover of our souls, the best Father and Friend a person can have. You then can share his Love with others, the hurting and broken hearted, the sick and the morning. Jesus gives true meaning to life and everthing you do has purpose and meaning. God bless you.

this weekend a 4 year old boy was found dead in a box. Two children disappeared this weekend. Last week teenagers were executed the same day they were sentenced....for watching PG type American films. People are freezing-to-death here in Britain. Hunger is the new plague here in Britain.....Perspective. To see how unimportant and weak our problems are? Perspective. Your life is pretty darned incredible; safe, too. You are loved. Too many wake to loneliness.
