Wasn't expecting to see my home village in the video! It's a shame you couldn't see more of Balloch than Sports Direct!

Really enjoyed this video! I'm planning on doing the WHW this spring. I live close to Drymen and love to go to the Clachan. I remember once I was testing some hillwaking gear and my new rain jacket completely failed me. I was soaked through and walked into the Clachan so that I could dry out. Even though I was soaked through and leaving a puddle they were happy for me to stay (probably because they were completely empty that evening!). I ordered a pizza and dried out a little before catching the bus home! I'm sure plenty of other places would have asked me to leave!

THANK YOU for having real plants in your van! I am so tired of seeing people decorate their vans with fake plants. It’s soo tacky. 😣 I love all your little air plants and herbs. Your space is well organized, and cozy.

Now you know of one of the many reasons the english want Scotland as a permanent part of the UK . There are trillions of pounds of money in our untapped lands laden with natural resources and the english want them . Great video guys ... spectacular video in fact .Walking along the highway reminded me of my year in Upstate New York in 1987 ...that was the way to walk from town to town ...unless you had a car .

You two look absolutely adorable. I might just plan a very similar trip with my wife and use this video as our main guide. Thanks a ton! Also, happy to know that despite lack of French, you didn't have a hard time haha.

At over 400 years old, calling it "One" of Canada's oldest cities seems a tad cautious. It is the oldest European settlement City in North America with easily the greatest collection of still-intact period architecture on the continent. My recommendation for tourists....$0 admission will get you into Le Monastère des Urselines de Québec...the oldest convent in North America. It is a time-capsule stroll through the original convent and a rarely seen inside look at life as a nun in the 17th century. It is a MUST see historic site, second only to La Citadelle (which is historically significant to both Canadian and American tourists). Plan for a couple hours minimum at le Monastère.

Thank you! If you have any other recommendations, please let me know. I may visit with my wife in a few months from Egypt. Is it better to visit in winter or summer? I like the idea of the ice hotel, so thinking it should be winter to avoid missing that.

@@t6hp If you plan to explore the surrounding Area, I would suggest Autumn. The beauty of The St Lawrence Region as the fall colours arrive is natural emotional therapy that can only be described as 'Fiery Splendour". BUT there is much fun to be had during Carnaval de Québec which happens in February (in 2025 Feb 7-16th). The warmth of your host City's people & charms, will thaw your frozen bones. It is absolutely festive. OR there's Fête Nationale (la St Jean) which takes place on the 24th of June, and would expose you to Québec Pride and Culture in a very up-close & personal way. Inebriation may ensue. So I would suggest you try to come between January 1st & December 31st. :)

A very curious traveler. I always come back to it! I’m so inspired by you and I can’t wait to walk the Camino next year. So proud of you. Thank you for sharing.

She is using mole skin or something similar at 8:50, but in the Army, we always carried a roll of duct tape. Goes a long way. Stays put on your heel or toes or wherever you need it. Easy to peel off. Can last for days including in the shower or out or if your feet get wet. Very effective. Save some money and time. Get a roll of duct tape.

When we hike, If one needs to go to the bathroom, just do it. My wife has a problem with it, but has done it out of necessity. But, don't be embarrassed, if one is hiking a public trail for 10-20 miles and there are no facilities, just do it and don't worry about it. Someone may come along, but if they are decent, they will stop and turn their back until you are done.

I walked 4 weeks ago just the last 114km with many health issues. The rmotion just overcomes you when you reach the cathedral. Than the next at pilgrimsmass. As i am original from poland but live over 35 in Germany. I was surprised to hear a polish priest at the church. The also got to me a bit. And i am not even really religiouse. I enjoyed your videos as well before my walk.
